SundayDriver
Can anyone tell me if the 1950 Buick Super (specifically model 51) came with an exterior windshield sun visor as an option? What about fender skirts? What other accessories were options that year? Thanks for the help!

Gary_N
Also, the Super convertible had Power Windows, top and seats. And Dynaflow was an option. It does not look like Power Windows and seats were an option, but rather provided on some of the Super and Roadmaster models. In particular, the Super Convertible, and the Roadmaser Riviera's (2 and 4 doors) and the Convertible.Gary
Fr. Buick
There was also the up-graded "Wonder-Bar" radio, bumper extensions for the front and rear, and the windshield-washer.I think back-up lights and the rear license light were also options, IIRC.A fun car to play with. KdFwagen
Is there any literature that shows Original accessory items that were offered for 1950? Also, any good books that anyone can suggest? I have a 50 Roadmaster convertible that I want to learn more about its design development, etc. Thanks
michaelmis
There was a thriving market in trinkets as well as useful items that an owner could add to a 1950 Buick. Some factory approved and others by third party manufacturers/indipendants.Trico had a vacumme equalizer this is an electric pump that maintained the vacumme what ever the rev of the motor. There were Saint Christopher key chains that protected you in the event the inadequate brakes did not stop you/lack of seat belts threw you through the windshield. One useful item was a light to show the gear selection. Buick remedied this in the 1951 models. Edited January 1, 2011 by michaelmis (see edit history)

Guest sintid58
If anyone knows where I can get one of those Trico Vacumm Equalizers let me know I would love to get a couple of good working ones for my cars with vacuum wipers. I did find this one but I think this is a little ridiculous and I hope he eats it. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Trico-Electro-Vac-1957-chevy-1955-1956-Trifive-Dodge-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem3cab1fdc83QQitemZ260569029763QQptZVintageQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories Edited January 1, 2011 by sintid58 (see edit history)
Guest my3buicks
One useful item was a light to show the gear selection. Buick remedied this in the 1951 models. Are you sure about this, I have in my head that I bought an NOS Buick accessory shift indicator backlight for my 53 Super as it was not a standard item and didn't have one. Guest Straight eight
I remember Chevrolet had these lights for the selector lever early, say 1950 or so. I bought one and used it on our 1948 Dyna Flow. Edited January 2, 2011 by Straight eight (see edit history)

Guest my3buicks
Gary, you would be better off starting a new thread in the Buick buy/sell section - your request may get lost in this thread.
