1916 touring top

Hello folks quick question :

Did the 16 touring car tops have a flap which hung from the front bow to prevent air blowing through space between windshield and top?? I saw a previous post whic described such a flap on a '22. Thanks

My '16 had such a flap which I plan on re-installing when the new top goes on. I'm not sure that this is correct as there were other problems with the previous top, bows and brackets.

Guys,

The early tops,called 'Jiffy Tops' (before '19) had a flap fastened to the rear bow and a similar flap under the front bow for storage of side curtains. I will attempt to attach a drawing of the front flap. I hope it helps.

I would also appreciate your drawing of the top flap before I put on a new top on my '16.

Just a couple of other questions regarding authenticity:

Should the windshield frame be slightly slanted as on later models?

Is the engine number A185-CWC correct for this year?

"A" numbers sounds like '24 or newer, the windshield was not slanted until '20.
