shatar4
I have just bought a 1936 Dodge and know nothing about it.I do have some numbers from the fire wall that must mean something but cannot find where to look them up. One is D213301TSA. Is there more numbers I should be looking for?
DodgeSavesUMoney
Hi,That may just be the body number. The serial number will be on the right front door pillar and the engine number will be on the left front of the cylinder block. Post the engine number and we will be able to tell if it is at least still a 1936 engine.
shatar4
There is a tag on the left front that says "For parts specify model 219". Would that be the engine number?
dodge55
Good Afternoon,The engine id # is to the left of the oil breather, directly above the front left freeze plug. There should be a flat spot on the block where the number is stamped.
shatar4
I found the pad but either it's so worn down or there wasn't a number on there. Is there another place I could look?
Reg Evans
Sounds like you have a replacement engineif the number is ground off the boss on the block and a tag has been attached saying model 219.
shatar4
Any idea what 'Model 219" means on the tag?
DodgeSavesUMoney
Can you post a photo of the engine and the tag? I'm not sure how easy the tag is to read so I'll just ask....is it clear that it is 219 or could it be D19?
shatar4
Here is the pic of the tag. It seems to be rivited on. I don't know if you can read it but it does say " For parts Specify nodel 219"
nearchoclatetown
Have you taken a wire brush to the machined area just to the right of the tag? Imagination does wonders, but it sure looks like something there. No oil just a wire brush, maybe emory cloth with a stiff backer to highlight any stamp.
