Thanks for the replies

I am posting for a friend that is looking for an A/C compressor (RV2) for his 1957 Chrysler Imperial with a 392 c.i. engine.
He really only needs the clutch assembly but would be willing to buy the entire assembly if he has to.
OR......does anyone know where I can possibly find one?????
Thanks,
Joe

What size (diameter) is your cracked one?

"In summary, while both voltage and current are involved, current is the driving force that actually charges a battery through stimulating chemical reactions. The charger voltage enables the current to flow into the battery by overcoming internal resistance. However, the charging current’s magnitude determines the charging speed and efficiency. So, ultimately, current is responsible for charging the battery itself, while voltage allows the current to act. Managing both is crucial for effective battery charging."

Masticated rubber is good for this as it was used throughout the body from the factory to isolate/insulate metal-to-metal contact(s)

Aerosmith said it best: "DREAM ON" and Supertramp, too: "DREAMER"
And, because I have seen how much a variety of mundane and "not-in-the-best-condition" cars are listed for these days, I will sell ANY of the 4 cars I own for a minimum of $300,000 each.
Hey, from what I have seen my price is reasonable..... Yeah right !!!!!

"Not sure if I have seen that on Beaver, but I think Ward always drove a Chrysler product."
Ward did own a 57 Ford - I think in the very early shows. Then he switched to Chrysler products.
-
I was watching an episode of Leave it to Beaver (the one where the Cleavers go on a picnic with the Rutherfords in Fred Rutherfords car)- a 1960 Plymouth Fury Convertible - see picture
I know there were many other cars on the show but this one was cool.
Go here to see some of the others

No influence AT ALL
When I first started into the old car hobby mine used to ask my mother:
"When is he going to get rid of those junks in the backyard and why does he need so many?"
He didn't understand "the disease"

One is 64 years old, one is 60 years old, the other is 38 years old. When I got into the hobby there weren't any 60 year old cars except a couple of buggy wheeled things called cars.
NICE!!!!
A 64 year old car, a 60 year old car and a 38 year old wife.....works for me.......

It's only a little over an hour from me so I was thinking about it - BUT THEN COMMON SENSE KICKED IN _ (what little I have left!!!!)

What is that terminal on the bottom of the ignition switch on 48 DeSoto??

It is a ground wire - which I have never seen connected to the switch like that. Someone likely did that.
BUT more importantly, the access hole is so you can loosen/remove the screw in order to remove the ignition switch - that is the reason for it.
