  1. It is not leather. It is foam rubber that needs to be upholstered. It is in very good condition with no signs of deterioration. Hard to find any like that - as you already know

There are 2 pieces - the foam rubber and the metal frame that the foam goes on.

I guess you do not need the frame but only the foam piece. But if you want both let me know.

Make me an offer for it.

  2. I have these 5 trim rings.

    They measure outside-to-outside - 16 1/2"

    On the backside - inside-to-inside - 14 1/2"

They have dents and dings but are not "mashed" out of shape.

I am not sure what they came off of but look at them and let me know if you can use them.

The rings are stacked on top of each other that's why several pictures

Nice car but, pretty sure it is the one that sold for $44k in June at the Wheeler auction.. at least looks like it to me.

    I think you are correct.

I spoke with the seller and he said he bought this car and maybe another one at an estate auction. The car was one of many others in the collection.

He then said that he buys cars at estate sales, gets them running, cleans them up and then drives them around for the summer then "flips" (his words) them.

The air cleaner is there but he took it off to get a better picture of the engine.

As far as the wood goes (his words again) the guy he bought it from did not want to refinish it because it is (supposedly) the original finish from when the car was new. Also, the interior was redone.

Overall the car looks solid and if I had the room/cash I'd be a serious buyer on this one.

  4. Really stupid question.......but I will ask anyway.

Do you have a key for the ignition switch?

Even though the car has a push button for the starter the ignition switch has to be in the "on" position (using the key to turn it/probably to the right) in order to "distribute" power to the electrical systems.

You can "jump" the solenoid terminals and that will spin the starter but if the ignition switch is not "on" the car will not start - no power to the coil, etc....

  5. I went through and read your entire thread and I have to say one thing:

You are a better man than I am what with all of the things that have gone wrong while trying to get this car done.

And now having an issue with the machine shop - that would be the last straw for me.

I guess you being only in your 30's helps - having that youthful exuberance - something I lost many, many years ago.

That exuberance gets replaced with experience which can be a good or a bad thing. If someone gets a 19 or 20 year old all worked up about   running into a burning building that exuberance will come through - but try to do the same thing with a 60-70 year old you'll either be laughed at or looked at like you have 2 heads (experience):):):)

Keep plugging along - you've come this far !!!!!!👍👍👍

He already has dollies. Sometimes you can find scrap plywood at construction sites.

    Rusty,

    Gotta be careful.....

Not to change the subject but years ago I was taking some scrap plywood (it was in a burn pile) from a house being built and the guy across the street called the State Police on me. They called me at home and after I explained what I was taking they just laughed.

Probably a nice period correct shade of green that will come out when the car gets a decent detailing.

Not that anyone asked or wants/cares to know...............

According to the paint chip chart the color, Code #6, is Meadow Green
