The interior of my Roadmaster has been reupholstered and some areas repainted. The interior code is 473. I can't find a paint and upholstery dealer book. Does anyone have a book that can be referenced for colors? Or a longshot, an original code 473 interior to get some pictures from?
Thanks in advance.

That was indeed the problem. Still tight but closes flipping the frame the other way. Thanks again.

Thought this would be a cinch, or I'm doing something wrong. First it was a real PITB to get the seal to seat in the slot. Now it seems the channel in the rubber is too deep on the outside so the window will not swivel entirely closed. Does the rubber need to be trimmed? Am I missing something?
For what this chunk of rubber cost, it should jump into the door by itself!

If anyone needs. Didn't say anything about the last one I saw. It's on my parts rack!

Got the vent window assembly out of the door. Vent rubber is petrified, will probably need to be chipped off. Is it possible to remove the vent from the frame? If not what's the best way to get the glass out of the surround? And also if not I assume the new rubber will need to be split and wrapped around the pivots, or a better way? Is an adhesive advisable in addition to the glass tape?
Thanks in advance.
BTW, very tedious and time consuming. It is possible to attach the inner horizontal wiper(the fuzzy attached to the door trim surround) with original staples in the original holes. Best staples I ever met.

Have you tried?:

Tried to send PM, wouldn't confirm sent.
Hi,
Wondered if you still have that trunk material for sale?
http://forums.aaca.org/f162/1955-roadmaster-trunk-carpet-336991.html
Shows the trunk of my 55 Roadmaster sedan. Generously measured 4.3 yards but pretty sure I can make it work with 4 as long as it's the right material.
Would you know what the center floor section backing is made of as mine is kind of soft/worn. Sides are glued to brown cardboard.
Thanks,
Paul

Sides of trunk are glued to brown cardboard. Fabric is glued directly to floor around(actually cut around)evaporator.
My question is what is the fabric glued to in the center and sides? Whatever it is was or is now kind of soft and flexible. May have been originally or became so through time. Where can the items for trunk restoration be purchased?
Also, what kind of paint was used in the spare wheel well? Appears to be a thick rubbery paint. Some now chipped and missing in my car.

Measured new flat glass(eyeballed) to be approx. 7/16". Glass on car(original I think) about a 1/4"(again eyeballed on ruler). Should 1/16" thickness glass tape work for vent and side glass? Can vent frame and window channel be crimped a bit if loose? Or would thicker tape be in order?
-
Thanks for the info. Reinstalling the glass, the rubber wrapped around the back of glass, reinstalled in the frame and then trimmed? Same with the door glass in the channel ? What thickness rubber works best?
-
Looking to replace side glass on a 55 Roadmaster 4dr. sedan. Is side glass set in rubber in the channel(to regulator)? Same with the vent glass. My vent glass appears to have petrified rubber between the glass and frame. Best way to remove from frame?
Where is this rubber available and what is it called? CARS sells a mohair channel liner, but I'm thinking that's not it.

I am about to send some parts from my 55 to Librandi too, being 2 hours from them. I wonder if a few members forming a bulk purchase would get a discount...?
Couldn't hurt to ask. I have been talking to Mitch Crater. Will be bring my stuff in mid Oct.

Wow, no one going? Honestly I have not been since 2007. Prob the worst Hershey I have been to(of maybe 15,16 since 1979). Show was on grass, part mud part dust. Much confusion. Many cars not in position by late morning.Too many personal transports.Don't get me wrong, alot of work goes into this event, but it is getting too big. Anyone remember walking across the runway at the airport across the street? Wrote a similar tale shortly after(still on line). Many agreed. I hope things have changed since then. Another thing, maybe it's me, but I'm not that interested in Pinto's, Pacers and Citations. Time for a time limit,no?

Deja vouz all over again. I had an experience with Qual Chrome in Fla. in the 80's restoring a 41 Super. Had them do the whole car. Did not get to some parts for several years. When I unwrapped them they were peeling and had surface rust. Just some but I was pi$$ed!
Librandi's quoted ballpark 7K for my whole laundry list. Not including the goldtone stuff(they say it's real gold and not cheap!). No one has a bad thing to say about them and they are about 4 hrs from here. I am convincing myself as I type!.
Bronx boy here, in Nassau county now. About 20 mins(no traffic.....never no traffic) from Plainview. Do they have a L/F door remote for sale?

Librandi's is one of the places under consideration. Would like to drive with the pieces. Seems like the NE is a little higher priced than out west or south. I'm reading 3,4,5 hundred to do a bumper.A grand or so for two bumpers. But Colorado and Alabama are a little too far.(evan though the car used to live in Al.)

Anyone have chrome work similar to this done? What should I expect to pay for such a job?
Got a couple of "ballpark" estimates and they seemed a little high from what I have read in other quotes.
I'll post the estimates after I hear a couple of customer numbers.
Could use some suggestions for chrome shops within 400 miles of NYC.
Anyone use Bar Plating in Conn.?

Auto color library lists paint code JH as Kearney Green- Belmont Green, appears to be correct.

So these hoses are braided rubber lines, which if original, are likely shot? And don't bother adding liquid gold(R12) till they are replaced? Is that what I am reading?
-
Thanks, as I like to say it looks a 100% better. PS pulley came painted when I stripped it it needed to be buffed, just easier to paint. I've seen as many painted as plain I think. Will get to the intake and valley cover this winter.
I think the chrome will go to Librandi's if the number they send back doesn't send me into shock.
Went with the battery on looks alone. Nothing else looked like an original.
Think I got the defroster duct from CARS.
Haven't got the A/C working yet, sorting other more important things like a collapsed brake hose and a slightly incontinent transmission.

Don't know if the switch is the same, but something similar occurred on my 55. Could be corrosion on the rheostat. Working it back and forth and a light sand paper fixed mine. Other threads deal with similar problems. There was a NOS light switch on ebay last week.
