  1. I just put this beautiful car up on a very well known auction site with a staring bid of $7,500. I need this car out of my garage.
  2. Lowered the price to $8,600 but in reality I will take any reasonable offer. Got to move this car.
  3. Call me on this beautiful very original and rare 1977 Lincoln Town Coupe. Less that 54,000 miles, super rare tu-tone leather and moonroof. You will never find another like it. Mechanically it is perfect, the air conditioning system has been changed over to 134A. The cruise, power antenna, the clock all work. The paint is fair, chrome is good and there is ZERO rust on this car except for some creeping under the stainless trim on the top of the fenders. You could drive anywhere with this car with no concerns. It's really beautiful but I just bought a 1970 Lincoln Coupe and have no room. I'm asking $8,900 but I will accept the first reasonable offer. This car must go. Tons of original paperwork go with this car as well. Thought I had is sold this past weekend but it fell through. Chicago area 847-997-9944.
  4. Are you sure??? I'm pretty eager to sell this car - I will work with you and zero obligation if you just want to come and see it.......it will give me some practice!
  5. Yes, me too! The first person that sees and drives this car will buy it I'm sure. Thanks for the comments.
  6. Hi Guys, I'm lowering my price to $8,500 and I'll sell the car to the first reasonable offer. If not sold before, I'll be taking it to the Spring Jefferson Show the end of the month. Thanks!
  7. This rare 1977 Lincoln is a very nice driver quality. It starts, drives and stops beautifully. One could drive it across the country tomorrow with no concerns. All major systems work except air conditioning. Tires are goodg as are all other components. This Lincoln was built with every option available including cruise control (which works with perfection), 8-Track Player, remote trunk release, power everything and of course extremely rare glass moon-roof. Call with any questions. I have many other pictures to share upon your request. It is a beautiful and extremely rare combination. 847-997-9944. $8,900 or reasonable offer. Near Chicago.
  8. I restored the deck lid handle on my '37 Zephyr that had no paint left. I was very pleased with the results. Lots of time masking and then removing the overspray on the letters with a set of +250 glasses, magnifying glass and a set of round toothpicks.
  9. Guys, just a shout out to say that I was amazed at the great dedication and service paid to me by Michael Leveillee of KM Lifestyle. He repairs and sells instruments for antique cars, including temperature sending units for our beautiful Zephyrs. www.mykmlifestyle.com I ordered a new temp sending unit for my '37 Zephyr and when installed it read at the gauge exactly the opposite of it should have. In other words it started out with the gauge needle pegged at H and then slowly went down to the mid-range. When calling Michael about this issue he found out that the 1936 & 1937 Zephyrs actually used a different mechanism for reading temperature and asked me to hold on to what I had and he would re-engineer another sending unit and send it out. Last week I installed the latest one and now my gauge reads just like it should. Michael took an amazing amount of time discussing the issue with me. He is extremely knowledgeable and most gracious. I recommend him highly. 508-792-9500.
  10. Glad you enjoy them, I love seeing these old pictures.
  11. Guys, hope you enjoy these. I have no details.
  12. Oh, also got mt revised pan baffle from Flatcat and it worked perfectly!
  13. Happy to report that my engines am together! I got all I needed from Al W.,who was very patient with me, a newbe. I followed his instructions and now no leaks, my oil float now floats and my engine knock seems to be mug better since I cleaned out the pick up screen. nowitson to the brakes.
  14. Hi, does anyone have any information on the original jack for my '37 Zephyr? Where was it originally located on the car? Can someone post a picture of it??? Thanks in advance.
  15. thanks to all who have taken the time to respond. Yes, my oil float is cracks at the bottom and I was going to try to fixture but it sounds as if the smartest thing to do is just replace it. Regarding the oil pump, I spoke with Allan W. About it and he thinks it is a later pump, not an original. Think it should still be replaced? I'll have to check the journals but as I recall, they are solid, with no welch plugs. Yes this car starts and runs beautifully, but under heavy load but develops a concerning noise, similar to a rod knock. My oil pressure at the gauge shows about 40-45 cold and dops down to about 5-10 at hot idle. I was running 15/40 but was told to go to straight 40 wt which I now have. I have no smoke or blow-by. looks like I'm in the market for a Melling 15 pump, a new float and possible baffle? Thank you to all as I'm learning everyday more about these amazing cars.
  16. I removed the pan for a couple of reasons. First, the oil float didn't float, secondly I wanted clean it, third i wanted to super clean the pick up tube for increased flow. was thinking of pulling the rod caps to check for clearances and for scoring. Anyone know where I can find the specs?
  17. Guys, now that I have my oil pan finally off, can someone posessing more knowledge than me tell me what these show? Which oil pump do I have? Looks pretty clean to me, but is it? Will that filthy pickup screen inhibit oil flow?? See any changes I should make?? Thanks!
  18. Thank you Cecil, I was going to call you shortly.
  19. Should I be concerned about breaking off the nut??? Breaking that shaft would be a nightmare!!
  20. Thank you, I have the oil float secured on top and I dont see any interferring journals. I will try to lowere the wishbone some additional, I was concerned about putting too much pressure on the wishbone but if you're saying about 1', sounds like I have some room to go. I'll keep you posted.
