Those heads look great - and fast service!

Quite a project, but - a factory air car for $150.00? Welcome to the 1970s! Tell us more, how is it equipped?

Kbeach, have you searched on these forums for information on the Fedco system? As I recall I did some research here a long time ago when I was selling mine since I didn't even know what they were. I know I got some pretty good responses, give it a try.

Thanks @TexRiv_63. That is a big help. Don't believe I have ever seen the Fargo before. I am guessing the same code applies to it? Your Chrysler tag is a nice one and is a good example of the different levels of the stamping. Looking at the right end you can see where the background is the first level, the code letter L is the middle level followed by the r in Chrysler which is the top level. When paint is applied then wiped off the r and parts of the three L's will show but the paint will cover the lines in the background and part of the code L, making them not visible.
Does your plate use the same two studs like the Stutz?
I sold these items years ago but as I recall the Chrysler had the two studs but they had been crudely sawed off.

Very pretty and rare car. Not sure about the interior design but it looks right. Needs a real good underside inspection, not sure if the price is a "steel" or not.

Beautiful.

Very nice preservation.

My decrepit old body reminds me loudly and painfully if I overdo car work involving getting down to and up from the floor. Since my current project involved that almost exclusively I broke it up into small pieces, but I will lump it all together here. The new tires are on! The blue protective coating was surprisingly easy to remove and those glaring new whitewalls are perfect. I added the 5/8" "Beauty Bar" to the outside edge and was not 100% sure about it but seeing it now I love it. I am using the LeSabre wheel covers for now, I have a pretty good set of super deluxe covers but I need to detail them.
While the car was up in the air I also changed the oil and filter. I was embarrassed to find I had not done so since buying the car 2 1/2 years ago, but happy to see the drain oil was surprisingly clean. I adjusted the service brakes hoping to cure a little pulling in the front, and checked the emergency brake, which turned out be in perfect adjustment.
I finally took it out for a ride this afternoon and am very pleased. I think it rides better, I have the pressure set at 31 psi which should be a good compromise. I had it up to about 65 mph and there was no vibration. I plan to get a TollTag for the car and actually do some longer highway driving!

Here is a satisfying follow-up to this thread. Based on the responses identifying this as being for a 33 Pierce Arrow I contacted a friend of mine who HAS a 12 cylinder 1933 Club Sedan to confirm. He did confirm the ID based on another 33 car, but said he was looking for a lens like I had as his taillight had three of the fluted red stoplight lenses. After checking dimensions I gifted the lens to him, much preferring helping complete an actual car to a few bucks on Ebay. He just mounted it and sent me this photo. He is still looking for the correct outboard clear backup light lens, if anyone has a lead on one please send me a PM.

I love these cars but they have never been valued highly as collectibles. For the money this guy is asking this car should be close to perfect.

I've posted these pictures elsewhere but they are my favorites because this jumpstarted my car repair obsession. In 1964 My Mom's car was this 55 Ford Customline. My Dad bought it new but by then it was pretty tired. So he jacked it up in our gravel driveway and proceeded to do a full valve and ring job. I was aware he knew how to work on cars but never to this extent. I was the light holder and tool grabber and I benefitted by learning a rich tapestry of curse words along with seat of the pants mechanical knowledge. He survived without the car falling on him and that engine ran perfectly for many years after including use as my first car.

That actually looks like a pretty cool project but the photos are lacking in detail.

I did not know a person could get a full console set up in 1961, for Oldsmobile, Pontiac etc. Never seen it, and may not be original, but it appears to be Oldsmobile. I saw a 1963 98 2 door hardtop Oldsmobile in a Missouri salvage yard that had this set up, with console mounted vacuum gauge or tach. But never 1961.
The 61 Starfire had buckets and console standard. Not sure about 61 but later years had a 98 Sport Coupe option with buckets and console.

Wow, that is nice and seems worth the price. They must have popped for the Earl Scheib "Deluxe" job for $39.95, still looks great.

I started by Googling "Falcon-Knight hub cap photo" and saw the cap in question. It has been identified as Oakland, but I cannot be absolutely certain that they are correct.
Your results are the same that I have found in the past. I have found that Worthpoint is not a reliable source as they just repeat what the consigner says. I also have seen references to an "Oakland Bluebird" car model but never any reliable backup. I have a few of these caps but do not want to sell them without a legit ID.

1920s Oakland from the research I just did.
I have been trying to pin this one down for years, where did you find info? Is this a factory design or aftermarket?

Hill climb, can’t wait for your comments.

Love these videos. Europeans seem to be much less worried about using their old cars than we are.
