No one has asked me to.
And I'm not in the market.
-
I live in the same town and would be happy to check it out for anyone interested.

Check with Jolly_John. He has advertised them on this forum. I bought one from him for my dear departed 84.

When Greg at S & M repaired mine, he used a power vent motor and tapped the case for the correct mounting holes. It's too bad that he won't repair them anymore. He does good work.
-
As Leif says, the one I have has two lenses - a clear one with a red one held in by a spring clip.
I took a look at how mine mounted on the car. As you can see in the pictures, it is to the side of the license plate, and the clear section to illuminate the plate is on the top. It will only light the Buick badge, not the license plate. I do have a Buick badge like yours in very good used condition, which was not mounted on the car.

It's identical to the one on my 1922.

FOR SALE
Not my car.
Haven't seen it.
I have no interest in it - just passing on the information:
1923 Buick 2 Passenger Roadster Model 23-44

I used Greg Thompson at S & M Electro-Tech, Inc. in Blaine, Minnesota.
763-780-2861 Auto Electronics
Greg rebuilt my motor and it has worked perfectly for eight years.

John,
Go to autoswalk.com, click on events, click on the outline of Minnesota, and scroll down to June 10th. You'll find a copy of the flyer there.
-OR-
Send me a PM with your direct e-mail address and I'll send you a copy of the flyer.
p.s. - send me your e-mail address anyway - there is road construction in the area of the fairgrounds and I can give you a route to avoid the mess.

I have a Buick Master Parts Book, 1940 to 1971 Inclusive, and the book calls it the transmission a Turbo Hydra-Matic 400. My understanding is that Buick called it "Switch Pitch" and the other GM divisions called it a "Turbo Hydramatic."
That being said, the part number for the Master Overhaul Kit for a 64 is Group 4.005 8625966 and for 65-71 it is 4.005 8625967.
Another Buick Master parts Book, 1958 - 1968 lists the 64 overhaul kit as 4.005 8623997 and the 65-68 at 4.005 8625904, superseding 8624963.
Even though the part numbers don't match, at least this tells us that there must be an internal difference between the 64 and the later transmissions.

I redid the brakes in my 65 last year. I got the wheel cylinders and new hoses from Brake & Equipment Warehouse in Minneapolis. 1-800-233-4053 www.brakeplace.com
The cost was reasonable and the parts were on the shelf - no waiting - of course, I was there.
-
A high-pitched whine is usually interference from the alternator or ignition.
-
I got the old radio out and the new one in. Had to go to a Buick dealer to unlock the new one, but at least it works and the old one didn't.
-
Wayne - You were wrong to edit the post.
-
Problem solved.
-
Try Greg at S & M Electro-Tech - Auto Electronics. He rebuilt an AM-FM for my 65 Riv.
-
How do I remove the radio from a 2001 LeSabre?

Beautiful car, John. If you are looking for a road trip, it's about 140 miles to the Minnesota State Fairgrounds and the All-GM Car & Truck Show on Sunday, June 10th - 9 am to 3 pm. We'd love to see the car in person. $15 for the car, driver and one passenger.

The Buick Heritage Alliance is an outstanding source of information, especially for Pre-War cars. Yet it is rarely suggested as a source. I have purchased reference material from the BHA for my 1922 and am happy that I did.
Go to "Useful Links" on the BCA home page or go to www.buickheritagealliance.org. You'll be amazed at what they have available.
-
I suggest that you check the Buick Heritage Alliance's web site - www.buickheritagealliance.org.
On the home page click on Research Archive and then Browse by Year. Click on 1924 and you'll find several items available, including both the Buick Reference Book - Six Cylinder Models for 1924 and the Buick Book of Parts - Six Cylinder for 1924.
I purchased both the reference book and the book of parts for my 1922 model 46 and am happy that I did.
