Good Idea, Ed.
The switch is on the same circuit as the wipers - if the wipers work, the fuse is good.
Lars, What are the transmission's symptoms?
-
The GM Parts Books I have call it "Switch, Transmission Control".
Group 4.057
1965 All - part number 1993301
1966-67 All - part number 1375966

If you don't, the car will let you know if you should have:eek:
And I hope that you have a safe landing.
I would remove it - it's not that big a job and it's a good idea to always error on the side of caution.

Return to the home page, click on Useful Links and then click on Buick Heritage Alliance. Search by year - they have copies of the master parts books for most years available. I bought one from the BHA for my 1922.

The "T" fitting on my 65/401 with a Rochester carb is the same. Driver's side line goes to the power brake booster, passenger side line goes to the PCV valve on the valve cover.

Check with Ken Reeves at Wheatbelt Antique Auto - 580-855-2449 wheatbeltbuick@att.net, for a switch.
You won't find a better person to deal with then Ken.

According to Seventy Years of Buick "...Buick's lightest and lowest priced car was the 4-cylinder Roadster. Designated the Model 23-34, it weighed 2,415 pounds, and cost $865. Buick built 5,768 for domestic sales, but only eight on special order for export. Later in the year, the Model 23-39 Sport Roadster was introduced. This car, which had a production run of 1,971 weighed 2,445 pounds and cost $1,025. It was finished in maroon with red wheels, and buyers had a choice of wood spoke, wire, or disc wheels."
Neither Seventy Years of Buick nor The Complete Catalog of Buick list any other information concerning standard and optional equipment.

I used Greg Thompson at S & M Electro-Tech, 8836 Xylite St. NE, Blaine, MN 55449 763-780-2861 Auto Electronics to rebuild the AM-FM in my 65. He also redid the headlight system. I'm very happy with his work.

It is a poor, unimaginative person who can only think of one way to spell a word.

I've had a Pertornix unit in my 401 for several years without any issues.

Thanks, Ron. I'll check them out.

Isn't there a national Riviera day too? Mitch
October 4th is National Riviera Day. The 1963 Riviera was introduced on October
4, 1962 - fifty years this October - another reason to party.

May 3rd would be March 64th:p

I'll be celebrating on April 1st:D

I have purchased one - but thanks.

I have bought a core from Dick Sweeney. Thanks for your input, DJ.
-
According to the GM Parts Book, there is only one core for 63-65 Rivieras - no difference if it has a/c or not. My car does have a/c.
It's my understanding that the core is larger than the hole in the firewall, so the hole has to be made bigger, or you have to take it out from inside the car.

Hi, Dick.
I met you at the BCA National in Rochester in 96 - I was in registration tracking the ROA members attending.
I don't want to start removing the old one until I have a replacement ready in case mine isn't rebuildable or the radiator shop takes too long. We are having record high temps in Minnesota - seven out of nine days in the 70s - and car season is upon us. I don't want to be hung up with a big chunk of the interior out of the car.

Hi, Scott;
After you get the information on the models your parts are for, send an email with your ad to editor@gopherstatebuick.org. Marge can put your ad in the June chapter newsletter if she has the ad by May 17th. If you have pictures, you can attach them. They won't appear in the newsletter, but she can send them to everyone in the Gopher State Chapter which she has an e-mail address for. Be sure to include your asking prices,
