Can anyone tell the state of the license plate, and what is sitting on the front fender-passenger side?

Did you read the caption below the picture that I posted?
Duh? Obviously, I did not! My bad! A senior moment?

even pontiacs in the 1950s that weren't the catalina hardtop or convertible would have a rubber front floor mat, and carpet in the rear floor.
Well, I was around at that point in time and just do not recall ever seeing such. All the Oldsmobiles we had (48, 52, 53) never had such.

How about a photo, and a location? Two door or four? Color? Just a few important thing that most buyers want to know. Thanks.
MUCH BETTER!
Pics clearly show it to be a 4 Door.

The pit is especially handy when the job requires some top and bottom work...no need to run the lift up and down or get on ladder.
In my humble opinion, a pit would be the way to go, precisely for the convenience referred to above. However, the government has made use of a pit "next to impossible" with regs dealing with electric. ventilation and drainage.

Perhaps a Buick expert or two will jump in here and opine for me: How unusual is to have the factory install rubber flooring in the cockpit and carpet in the rear passenger area? Do not know that I have ever run across such.

The listing says this very car was displayed at "the largest car show in the world, the Antique Automobile Cluib of America's Hershey, PA meet."
Would that be the real AACA or the pretenders?

If your car has old sealed beams exchange them for new ones. I don't know why, but sealed beams do loose their illumination capability over time.
Nor do sealed beams even begin to match the brightness of automobile lighting available today.
I guess what I am saying is that what seems dim today may have been standard and acceptable back in 1947.

REO are the initials of Ransom Eli Olds. REO Motor Car was the company he founded after leaving Olds in 1904.

I’d rather ride in a Cadillac ambulance than a Pontiac.
In USMC boot camp back in 19 and 69, a Navy ambulance - a Pontiac - followed us on our daily runs.

Sue em! Failure to enact rules/regs is stifling entrepreneurism!

36 forward and 24 reverse speeds? One would have to be a whole lot better driver than me to be shifting 24 gears while backing up!
