  1. Rusty_OToole thank you for the info.I have attached a photograph of the plug , packaging and box.
  2. Any idea who made "MoPar E7N AUSTRALIA"spark plugs?
  3. What a great idea, How about an e-mail chain for Dodge Senior owners?
  4. I also have to disagree with this e-mail. Who are "THEY"? It could apply to every Marque on this website; who believe in the preservation not recreation of old cars. The Dodge club magazine is full of information . I am not aware that one has to join "the club" to access and ask for information on this forum ;I have found the people this site extremely helpful and have in a small way try to reciprocated. No, this has nothing to do with information or "the club"; it is all about acceptance. Hot Rod's cannot bare the thought that even after spending thousands of dollars,in the eyes of vintage and classic enthusiasts ,they are still regarded, in the most part, as tasteless Vandals!
  5. Donna, It might be an idea to advertise the Dodge on Pre War Car: All about Antique, Vintage, Prewar Cars and For Sale . The first listing with photographs is free. I think Jan Arnett's advice is spot on , if you are able to, start advertising in April/May This site is international, given the age of the car, there will be a lot of interest in the UK and Europe
  6. You can do no better than follow "olddodgeboys" excellent advice . Shift as early as possible and very slow with a hesitation between gears.
  7. Thank you all for your help. I will check all the points raised in your replies.A friend has just fitted relays in his 1928 Dodge Standard ,I probably will do the same.
  8. The light switch on my 1927 Dodge Senior is getting very warm when the head lights have been on for about 20 minutes . What might be causing this to happen ?
  9. How many RHD 2249 Dodge Seniors where Manufactured?

    Vapor lock

Carbking has described The exact problem I had with a 12/70 Alvis; I fitted a metal heat shield kit,( which also had a layer of non flammable insulation material glued on one side) between the carburetor and the exhaust, problem solved. In the UK many Early car owners mix about10% of low flash point Paraffin (or kerosene in the USA) , to the fuel to reduce the octane a bit.
  11. This Dufor sheet my help. Do you have any new old stock V193 OR S194 for sale?
  12. I have just striped down my spare 2249 Senior oil pump. The base plate that the gears run, on show signs of a small amount of wear as do the oil gears. How much of a gap should there be between the meshed gear teeth?
  13. I think it is a "primer valve lever"
  14. I checked the drag link cups on my 1927 Senior. The cup that fits into the body of the drag link has worn significantly more, 3/32" (no case Harding left) than the cup that is tensioned by the spring (all of the case Harding still present); my first thought, a previous owner had only bothered to replace the spring side cup, the other being a little difficult to remove. How wrong I was;a friend has just lent me a pair of cups from one end of his spare drag link; after removing the old grease, they turned out to be the same as my original pair, one very worn and one with little wear.the moral is, physically remove both cups from each end of the drag link and then check them .
  15. They should be fairly simple to make, although they will have to be case hardened. If there are none available I might have a small batch made,as I am sure other Dodge owners will need this part.
  16. Any idea who might have 1928 Dodge (Standard, Fast Four and Senior) drag link cups (14196) and springs (14197)for sale?
  17. A one problem all owners of 1920's Dodges have,or will have, is the steering gear arm with its integral ball joint. Is there a safe way to restore the ball; or is there an alternative arm, (to fit a Gemmer box)with a removable ball joint, perhaps used on a different marque of car? Dare I suggest Ford modal A
  18. How tight should the the threaded plug be adjusted, at both ends of the Drag link/rod, on the Dodge Standard and Senior?
  19. You are quite right; however the lock washers in that cache of post are of a type used on early Dodges ;Dodge may, have reintroduce them for the Senior range ,hopeful someone out there will know the answer.
  20. My 1927 Dodge senior is currently fitted with the same style spring shackles front and rear; however, the parts book list The front spring shackle (inner)18288 as being different from the rear rear type(inner) 20988. The parts list also show that there should be a total of six lock washes fitted. Any ideas were the lock wasters should be fitted, and what the difference between the two spring shackle (inner) plates might be would be much appreciated.
  21. Does anyone know what " Whitmore's Compound NO. 0" is?
