  1. I came across a New Maserati Spyder in a calender and on the Maserati website. It bares a striking Resemblance to our TCs if you just show it with the hard top off and quarter windows down. Same long hood, short deck, similar grille, same opening tonneau for the soft top. I showed a picture to somebody of mine and the new one and they were like, They look nothing alike!. I'm like maybe to you, but 18 yrs later they still are making them similar in style.
  2. there arent any letters, the only maserati name is on the trim strip across the middle with the Chrysler's TC and the on the other end By Maserati.
  3. sounds like a bit of work like anything else. if it comes to this at least i know it can be done. ABS working I can care less about, my Daytona has it removed because it failed after i swapped my motor, must have missed a ground someplace. I enjoy regular braking much better than that flutter bullspit. I guess i'll see whats going on in the spring maybe
  4. I have heard of ppl putting the 523/obx setup in these cars to replace their busted 284s or just so they wouldnt have to replace them. I have a stock 568 large spline from a R/T sitting here. I have axles also and the intermediate shaft because of the equal length setup. could I remove the 284 and its stuff and bolt up the 568 with its axles and shaft and call it a day considering I will need to change the clutch and plate i think also, i'm not sure what would need changing. I also have larger knuckles from an R/T that support the 11in brakes that i could swap in with the calipers and rotors. I am looking at options, considering the gear ratio i think of the 284 being low compared to the r/t trans which is a 3.85. This would wake the car right up and the brake upgrade would slow it down nicely. anybody?
  5. nobody ever gets back to me, why ask for pics or info if you dont wna give me your email for it
  6. there are lines running from the fuel filter and the tank in the rear, sounds like the ones nearest the fuel filter could be shot and leaking
  7. you are about 7 months late, i have little to nothing left
  8. Thats why I had somebody call the source, Getrag North America didn't build them, Getrag in Germany did. would be nice to get all the info tho so if i wanted to rebuild my 284 one day I could. I have a spare 568 sitting if i wanted for my car also.
  9. I had a local friend in Austria call Getrag in Germany and speak to somebody who might know remember the 284 Trans in the 16V DOHC TCs. Low and behold, somebody that was there around the same time is still in the company. If anybody was looking for schematics, settings, load, parts, and what tools are needed to rebuild or repair one, it is within reach and only a phone call away when you speak German
  10. Leaking BOV can be totally robbing you of boost and does make a decent amount of difference. not hard to install and then you get a nice sound or you could vent it back in and be quiet. Never a waste of time when it comes to upgrading since the factory ones are cheesy and barely good for the stock amount of boost
  11. junked it get rid of it, got more than enough money from it, more than i paid and then some and i sent it out with the short block. oh well no loss for me
  12. if you didnt notice this thread is 3 months old. i dont have anything left to sell except a few exterior body parts and a few wheels
  13. might be 87 because the car was scheduled for 1987 year but got pushed back til 1989
  14. i think the seats are what sold it
  15. no actualy, these cars dont have any real place to attach a hitch so the do go into the floor pan area.i wouldnt put one one, i took one off a daytona, that was the stupidest place to mount on, probably would have ripped the back off the car, was rated for 500lbs
  16. no pading, no more 2x4s, they are all under Tds holding up diff things. my friend did the breaking loose, not like i needed that wheel, i have extras. i now have 4 with good matching tires on my TC that has for once really moved under its own power and they are 4 good wheels and i have 2 with decent rubber in good shape for spares. might have it driving down the block before winter, pulling it apart tomorrow a little to see if i can get it into reverse, if not i can roll it down the driveway and see how much power it has in the forward gears, it felt good just moving it in its 12 ft spot in the driveway
  17. fusion of rust and corrosion on the two types of metal for what probably was a few years. made a weak chemical bond. took a big hammer to break the bond between the two, the wheel and the rotor
  18. well its off, whatever kind of metal these are doesnt like a hammer, oh well, still got a total of 6 good wheels, one slightly dented on backside and one roadrashed and dented on backside
  19. i've been trying for the past few months, i've wd-40ed it, anytype of penetrant, hot, cold, and i can get this 15in wheel on my TC to come off. all the lugs have been off for about 6 months, the car is sitting on the ground with no lugs, and the wheel doesnt even budge an inch. its got Fond metal, im guessing is aluminum, wheels and they are stuck to the stock rear solid rotors on this car. i've lifted it, tried mule kicking it, had a 2x4 up against it and hit it, nothing budges this thing. the other back one came loose, but this one is just stuck. any ideas?
  20. very chevy-ish looking. they do match the color, the center was recovered and doesnt match right eitehr. oh well, better than nothing i guess
  21. i dunno why you cant ship it, i sent one this yr from NJ to IL UPS ground, the complete soft top with liner and frame and it was only about 120$shipping. wrapped it in plastic and sent it on its way. guy on this board boguht it, he was happy to get a 350$ soft top shipped
