  1. " <div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Quote:</div><div class="ubbcode-body">Anyone know how many units would need to be ordered before Joe Krepps would arrange manufacture? Specifically, I'm interested in a high speed gear set for 1934/35 series 40 Buick. There are a number of series 40 owners in Australia who would also be interested but our numbers would never be enough, so how many of you in the US would be keen to purchase a set if orders were taken for that model? </div></div> " This topic is not getting any responses in the Pre-war section so I thought I would bring it accross to General discussion. Who want's high speed gears for their 34/35 8/40 Buicks? Let's hear from you!
  2. JEFF Yours is an easier solution than those with 34/35 8/40's. Easier because I believe that the '38 Century ( and maybe later years?)diff centre will bolt straight in and will give you a much higher top end speed. Don't know the exact ratio or extra mph but I have been told that 38 special with century gears will cruise at 60mph with ease. Someone else with more knowledge on this changeover may wish to comment here. Of course the downside is finding a good set of Century gears but they will still be out there you just have to ask! Getting back to 34/34 840's...............does anyone have any further suggestions about gettting these gears manufactured?
  3. Stuart, As you know I have asked this question many times. There must be dozens of 34/35 8/40 owners in USA that would love a high speed rear end. Come on guys let's hear from you. If enough interest is shown then they could be made.
  4. No responses yet! Anyone got any ideas on getting parts these size to Gardena CA from Minnesota? email me at buickman@bigpond.net.au
  5. Don't think it a 2 door, my guess is a four door. I think, looking closely, that you can see the top and bottom hinges to the rear door. Not sure what series though. Anyone care to guess?
  6. Looking for good quality 16" WWW radials for a 30's Buick. Those of you that have already bought radials let us know which ones are the best quality.
  7. Anyone have any suggestions on how I may get some large parts transported from Eagan MN to Gardena, CA 90248. Parts are 1 x hood, 2 x front guards, front & rear bumpers and irons, and a couple of large boxes (tea chest size) of assorted parts.Looking at trying to get them to CA by end of July early Aug. Suggestions/leads would be appreciated. Tried a couple of pack-n-ship firms but way too expensive. Anyone with an empty trailer? I would be happy to pay a reasonable fee for time and effort. Email me at buickman@bigpond.net.au Thanks.
  8. Got mine July 3rd and I live in Australia! Very nice edition. Can't wait for the Post Nationals one!! <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
  9. Still interested to know what 16 inch WWW Radial tires you other Buick owners would recommend. Are Coker WWW Radials the only option for good quality?
  10. I recall this being discussed before but do you think I could find the post! So I will ask my question. What brand of 16 inch Wide White Wall Tire does every one recommend? I would be replacing 700/16 Firestone standard tires. I recall Diamond Back radials as one that seemed to be in favour. From what I can see they don't manufacture the tire but apply the white wall to tires they purchase.Someone please correct here if I'm wrong. If this is the case, is this how other WWW tires are produced or is the Whitewall included in the manufacturing process? I'd be interested to hear what 16 inch WWW Radial tires other Buicks owners recommend. Brian Flynn buickman@bigpond.net.au
