  1. If I had that 54 Buick the only things I would change would be a 64 TH 400  if it would bolt up and a 54 to 56 Olds rear end and springs to get rid of that torque tube or something easier, now if it had a manual trans nothing would be changed. Never cared much for a Dynaflow.

  2. When I get this project done one will show up in the condition I like and for what I was willing to pay,all I have found were 4x4s or extended cabs that I do not like since its useless to get a adult in the rear seat and they rust badly in the extended area. I want either a 2wd crew cab or a 2wd regular cab.

    Jeff,

Sorry, but I sound like a broken record, but you just live in the wrong part of the country. My utility truck (only truck) a 1994 F150 four wheel drive, with 160K miles on it, that was given to me. The body looks great, except for some dents, but car spent a few years in the Midwest, before it came to the PNW. But even with that few years of MW use, the superficial deterioration of the undercarriage is palpable. Nothing structural just surface rust, but most of our vehicles don't show much surface rust. The number of Craigslist listings are way down but I like this 1990.

    Bill

I came close to buying one from your area last fall but shipping it here would have got the cost too high for my budget.

  4. .I know I live in the wrong part of the country to find anything in this age decent so I am going to build a truck since I have a decent cab,I was wanting to get a better bed and front fenders but this virus crap is going to put the brakes on spending much money so I will reuse those parts for now and just get a new core support. I can not tow anything heavy due to the frame rust.

  5. I was hoping I could find a decent mid 90s truck so I would not have to do this but I will have less money in it doing it this way,the bed and rear half of the old frame will become a much needed utility trailer.

  6. My 95 F150 has a very nice cab but a rusty frame where the rear bumper mounts,I have been wanting a 3/4 ton so I decided to build one and picked up a rolling F250 frame off Facebook marketplace. Today I went to a pull and pay and found front and rear sway bars and got them installed and this will be my spring project.  I do have a rust free bed and front fenders located but going to wait until this virus crap is over to buy since I might need the money to live on if I get laid off.

I've got a 92 Crown Vic with 88000 km ( 55000 miles) that has a rusty frame. Have kept it around for 3 years, hate to scrap it, it looks and drives like a new car. So far have not found a use for it or the parts.

The problem with those newer versions is you need almost the same vehicle to use the parts in,the 302 in my 89 can be used in alot of other models with minor changes but might have problems finding a decent body so it could get parted out.

Do you still have the F150 that you drove over here several times? If not then what will your daily driver be now?

Yes I still have that truck but it has a rusty frame too, picked up a rolling F250 frame that will be going under it this spring along with a rust free bed and front fenders. Right now I will be driving my 65 Custom 500.

  9. My 89 Crown Vic has too much frame rust to continue to drive it daily,I was hoping to get one more year from it but its not going to happen.   Since I just got the tags updated it will be used in emergencies and then when the tags expire it will go behind the garage and be used for parts,it was hard to stop driving it since everything still worked except for the power locks and would like to find another that needs a engine.   It was sold to me having 110,000 miles and kind of looked like it on the outside but the interior looked to have never been sat in and the frame still had most of the original paint and now think it only had 10,000 miles and no one knew it,the heated windshield was its down fall since that was great in the winter.
