  1. Just a thought: I have had great sucess with dropping a heavy chain into the tank, shaking it in all directions and then pouring in the sealer/coatings that are sold by places like Eastwood. The only problem at times are the baffles. Since yours is already disconnected, it would seem easier. The only problem is how to connect the baffle in the tank, once the inside is ready. Didn't say I had the answer, just a thought. Sorry I can't give a solution, maybe someone will take-off on this.
  2. My friend is out on a hunting trip. I'll let him know when he comes back, I'm sure he's interested and will want to talk.
  3. Looking for pair or singles....even other years if they are Century's. thanks
  4. Thanks for the offer, but he really wants a 30s-40s sedan. Anyone else? Anyone have any leads he could pursue?
  5. I will ask him but I think he has been bit by the "pre-war bug" after seeing my '39 project. He especially likes suicide 4 doors. Thanks for the offer, I'll let you know.
  6. My friend has a1970 chevelle 396 SS, he would rather have a 30's- 40's sedan for a project. The Chevelle is a numbers matching car with a performance rebuild on the engine, a solid body, but everything needs to be restored...paint, interior, chrome etc. if anyone out there is in the opposite situation and has a suicide four door sedan they would like to trade, please let us know. The car is in NJ and is an original dark blue/black interior car. Email if you want pics.
  7. I don't know if it helps, but I have a full set of 1939 15x5 original Century wheels. They have clips....not sure how many. The Specials had 16" wheels in those years....these might fit, maybe you should check into it further or ask for clarification in the pre-war section.
  8. Good reference....just wondering: which car has the welting ending at the right point.
  9. Does anyone know where I can get a good, cheap, soft cotton-flannel car cover, big enough to fit a '39 fourdoor? Doesn't have to be custom fit, just keep dust off, indoor only. Maybe a Chevy Suburban's would fit? Thanks
  10. Actually the key words here are "simple cotton flannel car cover"...I only need to keep dust off, appearance of cover is not important. Am thinking that maybe a cover for a suburban would work. Thanks
  11. Looking for a simple cotton flannel car cover I could use to keep dust off my new paint while car is in garage. Does anyone have one, perhaps left from a car that was sold? Thanks
  12. Was able to get a 1939 Interior door handle, but not exactly the one that matches my other handles. What I need is the kind that have a maroon plastic triangular insert set into the handle. I am interested in what you have even if the plastic is bad or missing If you have one, a pic would help. Thanks
  13. Thanks, I had ordered them from Bob's but he is out of stock and didn't know when he'd get them. My originals are really pretty good except for the driver's which has some rot on the part that goes under the carpet. After a completely new interior, everything that is not new, looks bad. I'll contact Ann. Has anyone bought them...do they look as good as originals? Thanks
  14. Wanted...drivers' door or complete set for Century 4door sedan door sill plates. thanks
  15. Thanks but fellow member Mike Kent came to my rescue. Wouldn't even take money. What a great guy! Thanks
  16. Mike sounds like my savior...I have emailed him my phone#. Thanks everyone.
  17. Just got to computer today. Worked on Buick all day. The picture is great. At least now I have something to go by, if I fabricate. I had two wooden wedges, do they go under each "ramp?" Didn't mean to be nasty about the comment on your conversations going off-topic, but I was getting hopes up each time I saw I had a message, only to see it was you guys chatting. Thanks for the help. I try Dave everyday.
