  1. I have a set of, what I thought were 1959 wheels. If you're interested email me for pics. I live in NJ though, shipping might be prohibitive.
  2. Paul, Sent the money...did you receive it?
  3. Does anyone know if the '38 and '39 Buick radiators are the same dimensions. I'd like to buy a Walker radiator shroud and they are only made for '38s. Thanks
  4. I'd like to know that as well. Thanks
  5. Where are you located?
  6. I know you're probably not interested, But I have 4 original '39 Century 15" wheels. I'm in NJ.
  7. Thank you, let me know if you find any more stream boards.
  8. Driver's side is what I need, I'll take it. Let me know how you want me to pay you. Thanks, Frank ps: there isn't any chance you have the running board as well, is there?
  9. Thanks Grant but I already have the visor, finish painted and ready to go but I don't know the brand. After all the work to finish the car, I'm just looking for advice before I ride down the street and have it pull out of my center window trim and wreak havoc over my beautiful car. No turning back...it's going on! Thanks
  10. Thanks Barney, great pictures. However I don't know the brand of mine, but it does not look like you Fulton visor. It does not have that "dog-bone" type of attachment at the sides, it has a smaller clamping setup that does mount to the drip-rail but not with any drilling or screwing into the car. I believe the center windshield clamp is only one arm. Thanks Bob for your advice, I know what you're saying but if it won't fly off, I'd love to put it on. I just think they look great. Thanks
  11. I have an outside visor I would like to mount on my '39 Century. It attaches to the drain rail and has a bracket that attaches to the windshield center trim. I'm afraid the mounting doesn't look too secure and what holds the center trim stainless on? Is it bolted from inside, or is there a possibility the wind will pull against the bottom of the visor and pull the SS trim piece off? This is not the kind of visor that bolts to the roof. The sides have clamps that grip the drainrail. Has anyone mounted one of these and do you have any advice? If you don't like visors, I really don't want to open a discussion on personal choice. It's going on and I'm only asking for experienced advice on attaching it properly. Thanks
  12. I desperately need molding for one running board on my '39 Century 4door sedan. Even if you have a shorter model 40, I'll take it and make it work. Let me know. Thanks
  13. I have 8 steel wheels, no dents or leaks.....if You pick them up in NJ, I'll take $25 for each set.
  14. Does anyone know if the stock 1939 gas gauge is 30 Ohms? Thanks
  15. "What sort of Ethanol do you blokes make over there ??? Sounds more like battery acid." That's what I'd like to know! Thanks Andrew for that info... Not positive whether we are the only state, but we cannot get pure gasoline in NJ. Haven't gotten the tank back to setup the system and see if there is any "collateral damage". PA and Connecticut have stations that sell ethanol-free gas, but they are almost far enough away to use the tankfull just getting there and back. That is why I have looked into Star Tron fuel treatment mystarbrite.com/startron/ Thankful for any advise.
  16. Actually I have since been told that "Star Tron Enzyme Fuel Treatment Concentrate" is getting good reviews, although I can't find it in the stores that their website says it is sold in. Anyone try it?
  17. I was in the final stages of restoration when I tried to start it for it's monthly static run. The in-tank electric fuel pump would not come on yet I was getting voltage at tank. Pulled tank, removed pump, filter was dissolved and lying on floor of tank. Instead of having a white nylon net look to the filter it looked and felt like brown jelly. Pulled the 3 year old, Bob's sending unit out and the brass float was so rotten, rusty and corroded that it had cracks and big rectangular holes in it...and obviously didn't work. Mechanism of unit was frozen and wouldn't move up or down. The pump and the sending unit looked like they were in the Titanic instead of my fuel tank. The pump was new two years ago( first one: electrical failure). Told the supplier (Tanksinc), they said they never saw anything like it before....local parts guys say it's the ethanol, it even eats the plating off aluminum carbs. This tank was cleaned, muriatic acid treated, Eastwood sealer applied and installed...inside of tank looked beautiful (never had rust.) The fuel was about a year old, no preservative and only about a half inch in tank..still liquid, though smelled stale. Tank is being cleaned right now by a radiator specialist. That's the long version. Morale: if you live in a state that has ethanol-free gas, buy it! Or at least put an additive in it.
  18. I had an ethanol/stale gas problem that has left my 2 year old repro Buick sending unit useless, rotted etc. Long story, not needed here. Chevies of the 40s offers a unit Item # 1516280 41-52 that looks like it will work. I have converted to 12volts...stock tank. It is on their site: http://www.chevsofthe40s.com/detail/30031/Chevrolet_Gas_Tank_Sending_Unit_Gas_Gauge_Except_Sedan.html Has anyone used one of these? Thanks
  19. Does anyone know the exact capacity of a 1939 Buick Century model 61 gas tank? Thanks
