Also, you can switch the 2 1/4 inch front brakes to the Roadmaster 2 1/2 inch brakes. You would need to obtain 1952 through 1956 Roadmaster backing plates, hardware and shoes. Kanter sells the drums for about $90 each. If you can't find shoes, 1968 Cadillac front shoes will interchange.

I have a 401 for it.

I have all of the accessories that go with it; cam, rocker arms, carb, intake manifold, heads, etc, $1,000.

I have a rebuilt 401 that came out of a 1963 LeSabre for sale. You can always get the block re-stamped with the ID number that you want.

I run premium 91 octane gasoline in all of my Buicks. 87 octane is crap.

Convert your stock distributor to Pertronix electronic and get rid of your points. I have used them for 25 years in all of my Buicks with no problems.

Rebuilt 1963 401 short block. This includes heads, 1964 crankshaft, and all accessories, $1250. Located in central California.

Back in the 60s I worked in a Flying "A" gas station and we used a hand machine. No air or motors all muscle. On a good day I could change out a set of 4 tires in 40 minutes.

This is a great learning experience!

I installed a set of 1947 Roadmaster 15" x 61/2" wheels on my '54 Buick with tubeless WWW radial tires and full wheel hubcaps. I have had no problems with this arrangement for the last 12 years. I still have the original wheels and tube type tires that the car came with from the factory in 1954.

I do not put fluid in my ww pump because it will corrode out the metal parts.
