Steve here is the link

I already have a new accumulator and would just like the rest of the unit, I think my problem (hard brake pedal only when its cold out) is due to a bad valve body.
-
Tommy, I'm not sure just maybe the angle the picture was taken??
-
Problem is I live out in the middle of nowhere, the closest yard is probably over an hour drive and that's at freeway speeds.
This is my neighborhood.
-
Wish I was closer I could use the Teves if it's in good working order, and the price was right.
-
Barney what I have done to date is flushed the system, bought a new accumulator, also tried a known good one from my other Reatta, I swapped out relays, changed the pressure switch with a known good one, the one thing I have not done as of yet was clean the connections, I will try this to see if it will work. I really think it's some where in the valve body.
The pedal is only hard when its freezing out and after it runs and warms up for about 15-20 min's it's fine, sounds like ice somewhere in the system but I'm not sure how to fix it.
-
Sorry Barney I do not agree, I am the one that has the Teves unit that has the hard brake pedal but only when its cold, after it warms up it's fine and NOBODY can tell me why. These systems when they work are ok but it has more problems then what it's worth. If you want a GOOD daily driver and not worried about keeping it stock I think the change is a good idea, and keeping the stock unit in tip top shape can cost an arm and a leg.
Remember this is just my point of view, so please no hard feelings.
-
Do you have a good usable Teves brake unit, if so how much do you want? Thanks John
-
It is the yellow and tan combo that makes you want to barf.

Hey Nic I must be the only one, since the opening of the sunroof is right over the middle of my head, and when its open it seems to suck the hair on the right side of my head up and out, and my hair isn't that long.
As far as the head room I'm 5'-10" and I can feel the hair on top of my head rub on the head liner, so I would suspect that the taller folks must lay the seat back, I know the younger crowd likes to almost lay down when driving but I don't, so I lay the seat back just enough so my hair doesn't touch. Remember this is just my opinion and you may find that you would like one with a sun roof.

$6150 and only 2 hours left, hurry up and bid if you like that color combo.
P.S. I always wondered why people would bid early and drive the price up on eBay, if you want a good deal wait until the last min. and then bid, if every one did this yes there would be a surge at the end but you wouldn't be driving the price up all week long and then a big surge at the end, unless you are bidding on some thing of mine, then start bidding the 1st day I list it to drive the price up.

I agree, and if someone can do the conversion and share it with all of us that would be GREAT.
I have a <span style="font-style: italic"><span style="font-weight: bold">"Hard brake pedal"</span></span> on my 90 but only when its cold out and until the engine compartment warms up. ICE in the valve body??? not sure and I even had lots of input from this site but no one can tell me whats wrong, even after I flushed the system and tried just about every thing else it is still hard.
Question.....If the teves is such a "Great system" why is there so many problem with it??? There is a reason GM changed this in the 91 Reatta's.
-
The orig. color was black, don't get me wrong a black top and yellow body isn't the problem, it's the tan and yellow color combination.
-
Ok I like Reattas but this color combination just does not work. Yellow, tan and black??
Take a look

or item #320203778089 on ebay

Here is a link to where you can find 4 Reatta's for sale in Michigan three 89's and one 90 all under $4000
I didn't call on them to get any more info.
-
Barney if you look at the engine compartment it's red also, although it could be done it's a big job to paint it and most people just wont go thru that much work and put the decal on the shock tower.
Unlike others I like this combo, and could always use another Reatta, after all in years to come I think it's going to get a lot harder to find these cars.
-
The lights are the 1st thing I looked at.
Barney, I will look into the wires, Thanks
-
When I go to put on my Hi Beam head lights the lights turn off, is there a relay or some thing that would cause this to happen? If so where is it located.
-
$7000 seems like a lot for a 90 with 115,000 miles on it, about a year ago I bought a 90 with 56,000 miles for $5400
-
Does the Teves brake system work in the car? If so how much would you want for it? Thanks John
-
Good luck trying to sell your engine and trans, I had one listed on here and the engine only had 10,000 miles on a rebuild and I was only asking $300, the problem is it cost way to much to ship and I could not get any one to do a local pick-up.
-
I think it's better to have it switched back, then I would not have to open 2 different windows to see all the Reatta info.
-
I had the same hard start problem before and after I changed my fuel pump, sending unit, plugs, plug wires and fuel pressure reg. I never did find out the what was wrong, Good luck finding this problem, and post results.
-
I have just decided to let my neighbor take this motor and trans off my hands to scrap it, I hated to do it but I needed this gone with little effort on my part.
I dont have a clue how to delete this post, does any one know how?

How much for the bad Teves including shipping? I would like one to just take apart to see if I can understand how they work, so I may be able to fix my 90 with the hard brake pedal (but only whens it's cold) or maybe just the valve body.
