  1. I was getting my 90 Reatta out of storage for a road trip to Florida and found out it had a hard brake pedal, I figured I would try to replace the accumulator with a known good one and after pumping the brake pedal 40 times I went to remove the accumulator it squirted all over. Could this be due to moisture in the brake system freezing?

After letting it warm up for about 20 min's the brakes were back to normal, so My question is why would it squirt after trying to release the pressure. I do plan on bleeding the system with new fluid, before the trip.

Tammy I know what you mean we bought our 4th Reatta last week, even if it is just for parts, and in the next few weeks I will be posting the parts I will not be using on eBay, it could be fixed but I need parts and don't need another driver.

We are getting our 90 out of storage this week to get it ready for our road trip to Florida.

This is our NEW parts car............anyone need parts?

Phil this is your kind of look with the rims.

  3. I have a 90 Reatta that the brake pedal goes to the floor slowly while applying pressure. I did the brake test and it pointed to a bad accumulator, but I replaced it with a known good one and I have the same problem.

Should I go ahead and just replace the whole Teves system? If so how hard is it to bleed these, and change them out?

  4. After I replaced my fuel sending unit my gauge wasn't working either, I was told to put fuel injector cleaner into the tank. It took a couple of tries but my gauge no longer acts up, I'm not sure if this would help you but it fixed my problem, and you really don't want to drop the tank if you don't have too.

  5. I have tried pulling the wires and they all seem to run a little rough when pulled BUT one is not as noticeable as the others.

Is the ing. module part of the coil pack? If not where is it located?

    Padgett

That is one thing I didn't change but if that was bad wouldn't it run rough all the time?

  6. Ok here's another problem I have had with this car for over 2 years, but it's getting to be more often.

Most of the time this car runs and drives great for a car with 171,000 miles on it, but as of lately while driving the car after it warms up it seems to sputter, not all the time just once in awhile, like it's missing. I have already changed the plugs, plug wires, the coil with one from another Reatta (not new), o2 sensor, changed the cam sensor, (not the magnet) injectors, fuel rail, fuel sending unit, & fuel pump.

The sputtering will go away either after driving it for a while or letting it sit over night. It never seems to do it while the engine is cold.

Any thoughts on yet another problem?

As always thanks for any and all help.

  7. My 89 turned 171,000 miles last week and with the exception of a few problems it still drives GREAT better then my 90 with only 56,000 miles.

I just hope I can make it last a while longer, after all every thing (even us) gives out after awhile, and we will all end up in the big old junk yard in the sky.

  8. Well my 89 turned 171,000 miles and was running and driving like a top, until yesterday when it wouldn't shift out of 1st gear until about 2 miles down the road, and today the same thing happen. I checked the trans fluid and all is well there.

After driving it for a couple of miles it seems to start working but I would like to know if any one knows how to fix this problem.

I would rather not think about using this car as a parts car yet since it has never let me down.

  9. I spent days going out at least twice a day spraying the bolts with WD-40 before I attempted to remove them, you will have to spray them thru the holes in the frame so you get the threads.

My frame was rusted away so I replaced it, but I didn't have to much problems removing the bolts using air tools.

  10. My 89 is also hard to start, and I already replaced the fuel pump, sending unit, screen in the tank, coil pack, fuel press. reg. plugs and wires. All this and the fuel pressure still goes to 0 when the key is turned off. You may want to check the pressure in the fuel rail to see if you are also losing pressure, for the life of me I can't figure out my problem.

    GOOD LUCK
