  1. I converted to R134 when my compressor went out. I drove it everyday for a couple of years like that. It doesnt work as well as R12. And these cars are notoriously hard to cool because of the small vents. Does Freeze 12 work better than R134?
  2. What kind of refrigerant are you going to use?
  3. Bill, I just emailed you a pic (its too big to add to this post) of my 65's mounting. Let me know if you need more. Justin
  4. 2 questions: 1st: is the headlight visor system complete and working. to test, pop the arms off the motor and manually operate. 2nd: does motor work? with the arms off the motor, apply 12v to both sides of the plug and see if the motor turns each way. You have to realize there are 2 parts of this system and attack each. After you get those working then you can work on the switches/relays that operate them when you turn the lights off/on Justin
  5. You can look for all the right options but that would only tell you if it was now optioned like a GS. Matching numbers of course but /dual carbs/posi rear end/wood steering wheel ... can be added to any 65.
  6. If it would have been in good shape with no miles then how much would it have been worth today?
  7. Did you try Dewey's booster rebuilder in the RIVIEW?
  8. Just my opinion but I would start at the brakes and front end and suspension. Get them in good working order before I try it on the road. The center link is notorious for being worn out. Then I would work on getting it started. Just to see if the internals are good. After it starts once, I would rebuild distrib, starter, water pump, power steering pump, alternator , voltage regulator. Nothing takes the joy out a project like getting stuck on the road during its test runs. And you know 44 year old parts are not trustworthy.
  9. Bill, I am not sure if my 65 is the same mounting scheme, but I would be happy to drive over and show you. Justin
  10. My seal at the wheel is leaking. Hoped it was a wheel cylinder but no. What are the steps for replacing this seal? What special tools? Do I just pay the local shop $200? My rearend has no inspection plate on the differential.
