  1. The rear plastic window in my convertible top shows a white mark from being folded down on itself. What's the best way to fix this problem? Can it be polished out using any kind of product? Thanks. Tedd
  2. Dynamic88, We had to do exactly that this past weekend, as we lost one of our hydraulic rams. It's easy enough to manually raise and lower the top of our 55 Olds convertable. You will have to unhook the lifters before you can do it manually. Also, it is easier to put down than it is to get back up. For us, it takes two to put it up again. Since you plan to use it down most of the time, I think you're on the right track. Good luck. Tedd
  3. Thanks all for responding. In my pugilist days I would have hunted them down and thumped their mellons, but alas I have become more of a diplomat in my old age. But then again if I caught someone in the act my actions would be short and violent. Old habits are hard to over come. Tedd

  5. I'm located in north central Calfornia and yes I have a little touch up paint that I use for rock chip repair. It's an air dry synthetic enamel - no hardener. Would such a product work? Thanks. Tedd
  6. This post is to let off steam...and to ask for advice. Some *#**# scratched my 55 Oldsmobile while it was parked. It's not terribly big, but clear to the primer in two spots. My paint job is a primer and urethane system, not a base coat/clear coat system. Is it possible to touch it up by filling in the scratch with touch up paint and an artists brush, and then buffing it out? Or will my whole trunk deck need to be repainted? Woe is me and bless the bastards! I'll appreciate any suggestions. Thanks. Tedd
