  1. If you can locate an original Dodge parts book, all the accessories are listed in the front section along with part numbers and application. There was also a sales brochure that Dodge put out showing all the accessories available for the 1936 Dodge cars. These are quite nice brochures but are hard to find. There was 1 sold on Ebay a while ago so keep looking. Note that period accessories ranged from bumpers to smoking sets to heaters and then some. Good luck in your search.
  2. I don't know if you got your problem fixed but here's what I think. The outside handle is unserted directly into the lock assy.,so that is why it works from the outside. The inner handle is attached to the lock assy. via a long flat arm which pushes an arm back and forth inside the lock. If the lock position works it probably means that the catches are sheared off inside the lock. The lock can be diassembled and possibly repaired but it is easier to replace the lock assy. They can be a real son of a gun to get in and out. Good luck.
  3. I know that this is kinda late but I'll add my 2 cents worth anyway. The metal insert on your car is correct. This was the only year they used this setup. The metal roof also doubled as the antenna for radio equiped cars as it is insulated from the body. If your top leaks or nedds removed for any reason you'll find that there is a flat rubber seal that actually seals the roof. around the outside it was finished with a rubber strip called Wedge-Tite to fill the gap between body and top. Neither of these seal are available anymore, however, ther is a man reproducing a rubber seal that looks as if it will work nicely. Not completly original but you have to make do sometimes. Good luck on your project!
  4. Your best bet will be to find a good original shell and that shouldn't be too difficult. The sedan delivery and the LC pickups share the same shell as the passenger cars. The more difficult part is the grille itself. Good hunting! Jim
  5. Sorry ! I forgot about the second part..the gas tank! As far as I know no replacement original style tanks are available, and I'm not real keen on some of the repair methods. I had a new tank made by a local tin shop. I gave him the old tank and he duplicated it for me. Even put the baffle and the ring in for the fuel sender. Cost around $350.but was worth it. It has rolled and leaded seams which mean ro rusting inside like welded steel tanks. he wasn't sure at first if he could do it but the thing fit like a glove. Might check out some good tinner shops. Maybe one can help! Jim
  6. It's me again! I just purchased an exhaust system for my '36 from Waldron's Antique exhaust in Mi. It cost around $200. and looks like it will fit fine. All the cars were the same so no problem there. The exhaust pipe was an old stock part but the tailpipe was made new. No clamps or hangers are included. I don't know if you want to use the original style clamps or just the modern saddle clamps. Give them a call at 1-800-503-9428. Doesn't hurt to ask! See Ya Jim
  7. I'm not sure you're talking about removing the shaft from the switch or taking the plastic knob off the shaft. To remove the shaft on the headlamp switch just push up on the slider in the switch. For the dash lamp switch, insert a large paperclip into the hole near the dash on the switch and push in while pulling out the knob. Now for the knobs.. they are not available new,as they are cast on the shaft. They can be very hard to remove and you don't want to damage the rings or letters. I did have a new set made for my car but it was fairly expensive! Best to look around for a usable original. Hope this helps! Jim
