  1. Took off the 12" brakes and put on the 11" to fit the stock 15" wheels, brakes rub on the spokes, would need some ceaning up to possibly make work, did not catch when I put on quickly to test before putting on the 12" brakes. But instead of going back to stock brakes I'm going to see how much would have to be cleaned off the caliper to make the wheels spin I'll post pictures later.

    Wheels

They'd fit, the reatta is 5x115. I use 5x114.3 which also work fine. Main thing to watch for is offset, but if you go with a 88 or newer gm fwd wheel you shouldn't have to worry. I think there is a chance the 12" brakes might not fit all gm wheels. And the 11" brake upgrade that I thought worked for the reatta 15" rim, didn't exactly fit, hits on the spokes. When doing the upgrade I'd also try to find a 14mm drill bit, the 9/16 has a little slack. And the bolts to mount the caliper mounting bracking to the hub, use new, the used ones work their way out quickly. I'm keeping my 18's on my '01 Aurora so I have some used calipers from a 2002 Impala that still have the nice original black paint on them, the car they came off I think had under 30k miles. Make an offer if interested, if anything they'd save you the core charges.
  4. You like talking to yourself? Have you ever drove a SeriesII SC? Real fun motor, great low end torque. The Oldsmobile DOHC motors are a blast at high speeds and high rpms but have no low end to them. Go test drive a Regal GS and I bet you can make a decision.
  5. 14's with chrome spinning hubcaps [color:\\"white\\"] A Reatta is not a race car!!!
  6. Brake rattle I've noticed the rattle on most my other GM cars also, good brake pads and anti-chatter spray coating and it's ok for a while. If you think the Reatta rattle is bad with the stock wheels, try a more wide open wheel, it gets much worse.

Host the image on a server somewhere and use the Image tag to insert it address of picture is http://www.techturds.com/reatta2.jpg
  8. Stickers are stupid. Intake has no purpose. CD player in dash and interior is WRONG!! Audio, video and neon are just ok. Wheels are nice looking. Painted headlights are cool. $.02
  9. Jim Finn is a good person to do business with and good prices. I know he has a parts car from Texas with no rust. I'm pretty sure he still has the cooler. jfinn@cpinternet.com
  10. My "Ebay" link above will take you to the ended auction where you can ask seller a question Reatta Repair on Ebay This link should always find Steve's repair on ebay if he continues to list it.

  13. Funny Wonder if he actually lost his mind
  14. Ebay That would be the guy mentioned on this forum and is recommended. If your molding appears to be in ok shape and is leaking I'd take it to a glass shop to see what they recommend, they might be able to fix it for about 50-100 bucks by just sealing it with urethane. The window is encapsulated and the molding cannot be replaced without replacing the window. Jim Finn is a good source for windows or the ipc. jfinn@cpinternet.com

    Rants, etc.

The problem is that there are many worthless posts that make it hard to find valuable information, the search function is bad enough. What is needed is a working search function and also a general chat forum within the reatta forum, then maybe every post might not be hijacked. [color:\\"white\\"] OR LESS IDIOTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  16. Did someone suggest a rant forum? Would anyone use it? I doubt it so I won't make it. Take me a whole 5 minutes to put one up. Where is the pogo post? Looks like the whole thread was deleted. Entertained most.. annoyed a few.. the few got him booted.. leftwingnuts
  17. www.buickreattaparts.com does work, Put a . behind the com and it forwards for advertisement reasons. You gotta read through past posts and try to learn the personalities of people here. Alf probably ran out of mexican hairless cats and ate a persian that gave him a hairball. If you want to spend your money doing this project, do it. It will get plenty of attention when it's all done. Good luck. Nice smileys EDBSO [color:\\"white\\"] Shiney objects and Smileys
  18. The size of rotors on the 93 Riviera are 10 15/16" So it would be worth a trip to go to the junkyard and see if the calipers fit, and even if you want to buy new parts the junkyard prices are cheaper then the core charge you'd have to eat.
  19. I posted about a month ago how to upgrade the front brakes to 11" to fit under the 15" rim using brakes from a newer grand prix, and you do have to drill. The rear I'd of thought there would of been plenty of donor cars in the junkyard to find something to fit, but no luck. Only the E-body brakes will fit. I looked at part numbers for newer ebody cars, ie.. 93 Riviera. Both sides of the rear use the same part number caliper so it should be the same design as the Reatta, and in talking to Jim Finn he believes the 92 or newer Riviera had larger brakes. Or you could look up the rotos for the riviera at napaonline.com and they normally give the size of the rotors. Good luck
  20. Sharp car, and you don't see them left and right on the highway. Engine would be alot of fun, and unlike a Grand Prix GTP you know it was not owned and beat on by a kid. I'd buy one but it bugged me too much that the steering wheel and other parts are the same as my Regal, and I just couldn't handle having two cars with the same airbag.
