  1. Art Brummer (now there is a name out of the past) told me that when he started buying antique cars in the early 1960's he would find a barn full of cars and he would take everything except the 4 door convertibles. There was little market for them except as parts cars for Roadsters and Phaetons.  Happily times have changed.

  2. Dad was in jail for disorderly conduct when Pearl was attacked.  The next day the warden went around and told all those locked up on minor charges they would be released if they wanted to sign up.  Dad lied about his age and signed up. A few weeks later he was on a ship and on his way to New Guinea.  His first time ever on a boat. That generation well deserves being called "The greatest generation".

I think GE's info is just wrong.  The stats for 1900 and 1917 can't be the same.  EVs have never, ever been very widely used even going back to the turn of last century.  I'm afraid there are too many people in the media that are trying to put out erroneous historical info today to try to sway the public toward EVs.  If the American people want EVs, then the market place, not the White House, not the media, not bogus climate change propaganda will make it happen.

In 1920 there were over 1750 electric delivery vehicles registered within the city limits of Chicago.

But, with the 1001 how many '33 or '34 open Packards (not other marques) are available right now at a competitive price? I understand the concept of restoration costs forcing many examples to be parts cars but with this one I have a hard time seeing it not getting restored by someone at least in the garage (maybe I'll call you if it's still sticking around next summer😁). Thankfully it's not a coupe that someone is about to torch the roof off of....

We would entertain offers in the high 30's.

  5. Car has all new woodwork as well as new skins for the doors and rumble seat lid. Owner bought it not really understanding what he was getting into. In a perfect world someone would buy it and have us restore it to concourse standards but in any case it needs to go.  The chassis had a very amateurish restoration in the 1970's and as they say "it ran when parked".  Who ever buys it gets all the advice they can stand. If there is one car I know it is the '32 900 and the '33 1001.
