Will pay a ridiculous price for a restorable pair. Must have tracks.

We rewooded an L29 Cabriolet. I remember there were 103 individual pieces of wood in the body, not including the doors or the rumble lid.

Leo, we have made dozens of sets of roadster and phaeton top irons in stainless over the years. Mostly Packard but if you have or can borrow patterns we can make a set. We did make a set of '31 Chrysler irons for a fellow in Australia many years ago.

Spun some pieces for newer cars years ago. Interesting process.

When it comes to durability there is no comparison. Electroplated wins every time. Chrome is very hard. Hydrochrome is paint. Considering the labor required to prep the parts for hydro I doubt it is much if at all less expensive than real chrome. And No we are not affiliated with any chrome shop.

Anyone interested in a '33 Packard 8 Coupe Roadster project? All new wood being installed. All serious metal work on the body completed. Chassis was amateurishly restored in the 1970s but needs redone. Price to be determined after we have it all hung together but will probably be less than $45k. Probably 99+ % complete.
Outright sale or we will restore to concourse condition for you. PM for more info.

We have just begun a full frame up show restoration of a 1938 Willys 4 door with the 4 cylinder engine. Look for it next year (or the next year) at Hershey.

Scratch a coin across the surface and it will instantly be apparent which is hydro and which is real chrome.

In 1957 and 1958 Cadillac produced a "Brougham" which was a 4 door sedan with a stainless roof and a wiring harness that has driven more than one restorer to drink.

Only car Mom ever drove. Bought it new. It fell apart sitting in the driveway. Gear shift knob loosened, visors fell apart and wouldn't stay up. Other plastic fell apart. When she passed I sold it for $250 to a young woman as her first car.

I only stopped driving stick regularly when I had both knees replaced. Still drive stick on occasion and wish my daily driver, a Ram Diesel, was stick like my previous one. Taught me Daughter to drive stick and she loves doing so.

As far as I know were are the only source for these pieces.

We made and sold many sets of these weatherstrip retainers over the years. We had them made in stainless steel. Correct for '32-'34 Packard Conv coupes. Unfortunately we are sold out and deciding whether to put up the money to have a new batch made. We have to order a full sheet of stainless and have them formed into 12 or so sets. Is there still a market for them?

I have a friend who was in the business of selling equipment to dealerships. He told me shops preferred job applicants with computer skills over applicants with experience as mechanics. They said it was easier to teach a computer geek how to change parts than it was to teach a mechanic how to operate a computer.

Why is it that some members are allowed to advertise their business all over these forums while others are not? Apparently only 1 auto transporter is allowed to post their itinerary on these forums.

I remember him "holding court" at his spaces at Hershey. I also loved reading his columns in Old Cars Weekly.

Our shop and home are about 35 miles from Hershey. We have seen very few Lantern Flies this Summer. Not like last Summer when they were everywhere.

Grew up in Dad's tire shop. Guy comes in complaining of a bad "bump' in one of the front tires on his '60s Cadillac. I dismounted the suspect tire and found a 14" Crescent wrench between the tire and the tube. Another time I found a 7 or 8 inch piece of painted wood inside a new tube.

Our shop is full of cars being restored that Ed would have called "barely parts cars with no possibility of ever being restored".

1949 Oldsmobile 88 Station Wagon Woodie

We did a full frame up show restoration of an identical car several years ago. Even the same colors. Google '49 Olds Woodie to see how beautiful these cars are when properly restored or just look at the cover of CRANKSHAFT magazine issue 5 to see it on the cover. Took a lot of effort and a lot of our client's $ to complete.
