1. Are Reattas ALWAYS this goofy? Bought it a few days ago. Heat/Defog(windsh and rear win) buttons ALL lit and functioned. Could set Temp and fan speed. NOW just "auto" does anything! Service A/C light DID come on before now and I expected it was in need of fixing. So--is this happening because of needed repair to entire "climate" system.. ya think? Fuses? Waiting for Serv Manual so any input would be helpful.
2. Quit drinking years ago and my thing was liquor so....no keg! Thanks to all! I did scoot underneath and found the exhaust very loose. Im sure more will be revealed.
3. Where in the state is Lake Chelan? I'm in Portland and believe I've been there. Too lazy to look at map.
4. Just replaced them yesterday, along with brakes. On slightly lumpy road surfaces it is too often like someone's knocking (not rythmically) from the undercarriage. Bonk..bubonkbonk..bonk, etc. (man, did I just type that?)I can guess what it may be, but I'm wondering if the stock layout under these is prone to this. I don't have ramps or even a hydralic jack anymore so I'm at the mercy of the "pros". ANY input appreciated.
5. Many thanks! I was mistaken on quotes.
6. Tom, sent you an e-m. I'll take 'em.
7. Sorry, no grinding--wanted to get attention! Bumping...YES! Quite a number of bumps and thumps occur, rather frequently. Kinda like those U-haul trucks were in the early '70's. I know it can be a number of things, but are there any common (Reatta) items I should tell the techs to look for??????? Its a Conv.-- do the tops (when down) bump around in there? I took the spare and jack out AND put the top up and still get some thumping noises. FYI-I've had a number of Buicks and Caddys and have only experienced this much knocking on a '65 Mustang and a few old pickups. Any help ALWAYs appreciated.
8. I think I was quoted MUCH more. It's early a.m. now so I can't call them 'til later. Thanks all!
9. NOISES--YES! "pots and pans" sort of sounds. So..it IS possible to rebuild rather than replace?
10. On my recent Reatta purchase, I needed to replace struts, brakes, a gasket and fluids etc. The mechanic, who I do trust (not sure why) tells me I need a cat conv. and its covered by exhaust system. He says exh system allegedly needs to be unwelded in a number of spots to remove it. Is this correct?? Be kind, I'm a rookie. Still rumbles in rear, I am going back with it. But... how much rumble and or road noise should I expect? Thanks-- R Russell
11. Pardon my ignorance, I'm not certain what CRT is. I thought it was the '88/89 touch display-(still a rookie). What about that intermitent "error" stuff? Mine is a '90.
12. Pull on either door handle (locked) and radio/heat-AC lights on dash come on for a minute,as well as odom. reading. NORMAL?? ALSO; sometimes it's "ERROR" and "elect. prob". As I've read- idiot lights in these can be..uh..goofy? Any input appreciated.
13. Where can I get a Fact. Ser. Man. and what should I pay for it????
14. Hi there! Just drove my 1st Reatta home (in the rain). It's a '90 Conv. grey ext./blue int. I like it MORE than I thought I would! But now, I will have to be a car tinkerer like I was as a kid. Hmmmm. Lotsa miles and a few things don't work quite right but.. I think I'll post pics.
15. I'm in Portland OR and would be willing to travel a couple hundred miles (I suppose). I THINK I want "lower miles" '90 or '91 and am willing to pay for the right car (stock specs preffered). Coupe and/or Conv. The only local car I found has 160,000 plus on it and I'm concerned about MAJOR repairs/rebuilding soon. Don't want to be a PAIN, but you people seem to be "into it" and VERY helpful. THANKS in advance!

Just looked at my first Reatta. Instrument (speedo/tach/fuel etc) goes off- then back on in a moment, "error" appears and so does small iluminated "electrical problem".. ALSO, AC service light is on (this one I can figure out ??)and left headlamp is "lazy" ie after full opening; closes some. It's a grey/dark blue int Conv (common?). ANY input greatly appreciated.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Posts: 4 | From: Portland, Oregon | IP: Logged

All times are MST (US)

18. You folks are great! Thanks for the input!
19. OK. I'm thinking about buying. I may even want a Conv. and a Coupe. NO BLUE- Ext or Int. I'm in Portland Oregon and they seem scarce in this area. Is shipping reliable? Is a '90 or '91 the way to go? IF YOU know your stuff.... PLEASE help! Thanks much! rrs814@aol.com
