You'd change your mind after (probably trouble making kids) break/snap your locked glove box open! It's a real drag!
-
I don't think so. Anytime you hit the trunk button in glove compartment, it opens. Car on, off, parked, running. ALL my other GMs haven't opened when not running.
-
Dunno! Seems odd. Why have keys to lock glove compartment (or anything else) if anyone can open it at any time?
-
Another revisited (I think). OK...I'm doing about 50, want to bump up to our exciting, local speed limit of 55. Hit the "increase" on cruise, and it lurches rapidly (tach goes up 1000 RPM in less about a second) and increases speed about 5 MPH in about 1 sec as well. Whatduyuhthink?

I THINK I asked last year, but not enough brain cells left to recall. My trunk release button works when not running ( car off. no key in ign. ), as well as when running, or on. Anyone know how to correct this SIMPLY? Hello to all that have been so helpful to me in the past! (padgett, Mike, J F, Barney ..........)
-
Here's a bad photo (it's all I have)of my beloved '55. I bought it in '72 (I was 17), cleaned and restored with the help of my Mom (yes, body and mechanical; she was an original!!)sold in '74 (always worried about it getting hit in parking lots) for the HUGE $$ 2600.00!

Thanks. Do you mean clicking when I push button? Yes, But only then. No broken part visible.
-
Hi there. Trunk latch stuck OPEN. Any ideas how to correct?? THANKS!

Brakes again (I know about the Brakes FAQ page) PLEASE help
rrs814 replied to rrs814's topic in Buick Reatta
Thanks Wally, but I'm certain it's the brakes (been there with the cap thing on 2 caddys). Reatta caps a snug. -
I tried all the "quick fixes" and nothing worked. Had it serviced. About 3 mos in and all's well.

Mike does know his stuff here. I have a FSM if you'd like pics ( it was helpful when I did mine recently).
-
Had my brakes done (again) AC Delco Fac spec. Driven about 50 miles and I get an ocassional tweet tweet tweet (rythmic), touch pedal lightly and it disappears. Also some whistling when stopping. I would like to sound a bit knowledgable when I take her back (soon today). THANKS!!!!!!!
-
I will consult my FSM ( a lot of good it does for bulb changes in the front; NOT!) before I begin, but I thought someone may have a friendly word of advice!
-
WOW! I must say I'm not as surprised as I would have been in my Pre Reatta days!
-
As I said, my FSM says 2057A. My passenger side turn bulb IS in fact an 890, but the driver side is a 2057A (????) ANYONE seen this?
-
My FSM says 2057NA for signal. AND... the one I managed to remove from socket (I don't know how I'm going to get it back in 1 handed- there isn't room for 2 hands) looks like the other 2057 bulbs I have, but is amber. Are you getting underneath with the car on ramps?

Another trivial, but important security question. Trunk button

Thanks. I will call soon. -
Another trivial, but important security question. Trunk button
rrs814 posted a topic in Buick Reatta
ALL the other GM cars I've have and had need to be "operational" and/or running to open the trunk and gas "lid". Not the Reatta. The release buttons work anytime. Is this the norm? Now that I've had to "spring" my glove box open, and can't shut it 'til I find parts, I can't leave anything in the trunk (convertible-so I never leave anything in the car at night). The key operation for trunk lid is "iffy" also. Feels a little loose, maybe on it's last leg. So.......... any brainiacs got any ideas? -
Thanks. Had to do it from under latch. To hard to get in from top.

I'm getting the sound of "birds in the trees" (REALLY, that's the sound) It's like several different birds chirping, not 1 doing the rythmic thing. After a Timing repair. I called the dealer/service and they suggest returning, but it wouldn't do it ('til after the call). It's now pusing 100 degrees here, and I'm staying put. Sounds like it may be coming from Power Steering. Just curious if it could be the belt "breaking in" or???????? Thanks ADDITION-- sounds like it could be belt or a pulley, I'm "thinking". (I gotta go get a stethascope). I'm gonna run it over to dealership in the early morning (I sure hope it acts up). Like I said, if you have an idea, I'd appreciate the input.
-
OK----Even though it's pushing 100 degrees, I couldn't rest until I got my glasses out. Studied the latch on doors behind seats, and figured out how to "pick" it open. The "pull-latch" (plastic crap) was tugged on enough to wear out the "tooth" (thieving creeps). So....I need a glove comp latch assembly (prefer blue, but you know how it is. I can paint anything black. If you have one or see one, PLEASE let me know.

I sure wish I could find another Reatta owner around here. Then I could see if mine is a "rattle-trap" that's rare, or if it's the norm (convertible). I did some work on my dash (IPC, Radio replacement) and now the dash "surround" SEEMS to rattle more than before. Sounds like a small fire when driving slowly over OK road conditions. It IS installed correctly, I assure you. IS there ANY known substance/method for reducing or eradicating "plastic on plastic" snap-crackle-popping??? PLEASE help!

Sizzling Radio (like frying bacon) Left side only. ANY thoughts?
rrs814 replied to rrs814's topic in Buick Reatta
Thanks you guys! I hope this is it. I got my IPC back from Stephen in Maryland (??) and just installed it (so far so good) and put in a Radio (original had a cassette hopelessly STUCK) and Climate control I got from JF a while back. Meaning..I don't want to take dash apart again!
