This might be the height of rudeness on my part but,,,,Was wondering of late how that early Rambler Gotham Limousine is doing of late it was sold a few years back in SE Wisconsin....Is a restoration progressing or ? Someone had posted a few photos, a while back, of the car at the auction and rarely have I ever felt that I was in the presence of such greatness!! Though come to think of it a few years back at the Jefferson car show there was a early 30's Rolls-Royce that had seen better days.....same feeling

Was wondering what old car books you guys think are "must have" for a lover of old automobiles. Thankfully because of the net and E-bay I have obtained numerous books that I thought I would never own but now have collected. Also does anyone know of any books that are about the search for old cars, with before and after photos? I just read a little article about the Dureya that The Henry Ford museum has and how it was found in a farmer's field and restore by Frank. I love those stories...Seems people don't seem to care about the history of paticular cars,But I love stories of the hunt for old cars. Thanks

I was at this auction and in my over 30 years of cramming around look for and at old unrestored cars,I never have been so awe inspired as I was by that Rambler!I knew I was in the presence of greatness!! I so wanted to thank the man who had saved this car. Someone said he had paid 11 dollars for it in 39. When Wally Rank, (Milwaukee Buick Dealer),had car shows in the late sixties and early seventies, he had some unrestored Pierce Arrows from "The U.P." ( That is the Upper Peninslia of Michigan. Something about torn and tattered, dirty, rusty abused autos are somewhat different from totally restored cars.Don't get me wrong I think cars should be brought back to their glory but once restored the years of life (use and abuse) are gone. I was glad to see this Regal Rambler and hope someday see it restored. -
Got a set of Bumpers for a Whippet Overland Six front and rear..Could someone use them? They need to be rechromed........Thanks
