Humberette:
My books shows this model with the same gear change location. Probably the 11HP model. Made until WW1 costing 120 quid. A water cooled version was dearer.
1913 from GB, air cooled 2 cyl in V formation. B and S 84 x 90mm, 998cc, side valves, HT maggy, 3 speeds, shaft and bevel drive, front transverse spring and rear 3/4 elliptics.
This car looks like the air cooled version. So it is probably drivable as is. Though it appears to have been left in the long grass with the Mrs posing for the pic??

Someone may be able to enlarge the hub caps on the big tourer. They seem very clear/sharp from here.
What a great pic.

Re: the Ply Parts Book.
It may be OK for mechanicals but Oz bodies are different.
Keep an eye on Oz Ebay.

OD's for prewar Fords are avail new for about $2,000-2,500.
I think u can get different ratios as well. It all comes in a complete kit. With a shortened tail shaft and everything else req.
Before that they used old Volvo over drives.
Another thing u can do is change the diff ratio. The old ones were real stump pullers!
I think Chrys/Dodge started offering factory OD's in the late 1930's......
What car so u have?

The white 1960 Ford looks like a Meteor Montcalm which is the higher end of the range. There was a 6 and 2 V8's avail then.
The white Pontiac looks like a 1957 Laurentian. Tho there were other models avail in 57.
Pontiacs in Oz up to about the 1970's were from Canada.
Mainly Laurentians and Parisiennes in the later years.

Hi Trist,
In the USA there are separate aftermarket overdrive transmissions avail.
I know of ones for old Fords: Model T's, A's and early V8's that fit between the gearbox and diff.

I didn't realise Commonwealth countries sold European Fords. Esp if they were along side Fords from the UK that were the same size.
