There has been some posts from the Model A Ford boys about this. It seems the new repro caps and rotors do not want to work with each other :-)

Looks like a Chev 4 from here.

Can anybody read or ID the badges on the grill?
The one on the right looks like a huge V8 badge which I have never seen before.
The coupe on the left could be from the Chrysler or Studee families??
And the one coming towards the camera does look Model A Fordish.

The Chrysler family (Dodge, Ply & DeS) used Ball & Ball carbies at various times.
They may have been taken over by Carter??

I visit this forum regularly. Does that mean I will have to join the USA Dodge club to get on??
I am a member of the Australian Chrysler Club.

The first 2 on the right look like late teens to 1920's Willys Overlands. Kinda newish too; maybe??
The first one on the left looks like a Dodge to me as well.

The early one says 1927.
The younger one on the left is an early Ford Falcon.

I have seen this one before--somewhere.
There are a couple of "What is it" sites.

As 2251DB says: this method of starting was common in the old days.
It was a lot easier with large dia spoked wheels too. U just jacked her up grabbed the spokes and gave the wheel a good spin.
At least u didn't have to worry about broken wrists or arms!
Compressions ratios were low and there were no LSD diffs or electronic ignitions etc to consider either.
Cheers

Hi Farrell,
I can give u the Dodge nos for the U133 bearings.
Maybe some one can cross them over to the Timken nos?
And I have the Timken nos for the 1926 & 27 Dodge/Graham 1, 1-1/2 & 2 ton trucks.

Hi Gossp,
Some wheel sizes:
Ford cars from 1928 (model A) to 35 were 5 stud x 5 1/2" with various dias.
Chev Masters 1929-36 were 6 x 5 1/2".

Not sure about 1929 models Ian.
My 33 has a pointy little pedal sticking out of the of the floor just near the gear stick.
Have a look around the rear of the engine for remnants of old linkages.
To start my car u turn the key on and push the little pedal and she fires- [sometimes].

Hi Ian,
That starter looks like it has a solenoid on it.
Solenoids replaced the little pedal in the middle of the front floor that engaged the starter mechanism.

The early starters do not go strait on to later blocks.
Not sure about late starters on early blocks tho.

Very streamlined.
R they on the new Autobahn built in Germany before WW2?

The Cologne-built Taunus was not a direct competitor for the British Fords..better quality for a start!
I agree with the quality bit. The UK models made/assembled in Oz were no better either.
But I always considered the Taunus to be Cortina sized roughly and it surprises me that they could compete price wise with Commonwealth preferred cars.
The UK had US and Canadian Fords to 1966 whereupon they were replaced by rhd Australian Fords up to 1976.
I can vaguely remember reading about that change over. I think the factories in north America decided they did not want to build RHD vehicles anymore :-(

Can you identify this truck?

From here it looks like a Chev 4.
Probably mid 1920's.
