What is it? 8/20/02

It is definitely a Series "AA" Stutz. Series "AA" was built in 1926 and 1927. Stutz called this model a Speedster although most manufacturers called this model a phaeton or 4 door convertible depending on roll-up windows or not.

    BB Stutz Parts Wanted

I have an original logo from a Stutz tire cover if someone wants to make the screens to reproduce it. I also have a radiator that I just removed from my 1927 "AA". It was somewhat clogged and flow was poor. It needs some work, but is the same as a "BB" radiator. I will sell it for $250 plus shipping from zip code 90266.

    bogus among us?

The club's action in regard to Modified Classics may have been partly in response to a situation that occurred a few years back. An owner of a one of a kind Duesenberg removed the unique body and placed it on a spare chassis. He then had an exact duplicate of the the body placed on the original chassis. He then sold the original chassis with replica body as original while he still had the car with original body on the different original chassis.
6. Also, a windshield with Protex wired safety glass and one inch diameter flex hose that attaches to intake manifold for exhaust gases exiting from the manifold heater. Email me at pughs@pacbell.net

  10. Victor,
I don't know about BB's but Series AA Stutzes used Klaxon 12-C.
  11. Victor,
The Stutz shown at the Hemmings site looks an awful lot like one that was offered for sale at Hershey several years ago. It was being sold by Manny Dragone, I think, who is a well known car guy. car clubs

Well, more doom and gloom if we don't accept run-of-the-mill and late model cars. Last one driving a (Full) Classic, please turn out the lights.
  15. Victor,
I'm not sure about BB's, but AA's use a Grolan gas gauge. The system consists of a sender in the gas tank, a long cable, and the gauge in the dash. The sender has a long lever with a cork float on one end. The other end connects to the cable which has a wire inside, like a choke cable. As the cork raises and lowers, it pushes or pulls the wire in the cable which attaches to a small chain coming out of the gauge. The chain pulls on a drum that has the measurements printed on the outside to be displayed. I hope this helps.
  16. If we are being screwed by our government and big business with $1.60 a gallon gas, who is screwing the rest of the world???
Gas Prices as of Sept 2000:
Hong Kong $5.38/gal
London $5.05/gal
Oslo $4.54/gal
Seoul $4.52/gal
Paris $4.28/gal
I'd say we're pretty lucky. Also, in 20 years when they switch over to fuel cells, there won't be ANY gas readily available. Enjoy what you have. The next generation won't be able to enjoy old cars as we have.
  17. I bought a small trailer that is in Dixmont Maine and would like to get it moved to Quaker Town, Pennsylvania. Is this something you could do? Thank you.
  18. 1943 Sherman tanks have Cadillac engines. That's about as close as you will get.

    Newer Stutz

The "Stutz" you are referring to is a GM chassis with Italian coachwork. It has NOTHING to do with the Stutz Motor Car Company of Indianapolis, Indiana. There is plenty of information on the web about this later car. You might start here:
http://members.fortunecity.com/stutzblackhawk/ecompany.htm
  21. Victor,
The vacuum tank has four openings. The one at the bottom goes to the carburetor. On the top , there is one that connects to the intake manifold to supply vacuum to the inner tank. There is one that connects to the gas line going to the gas tank. There is one that has just a short 2 or 3 inch copper tube that goes up and then does a 180 degree turn that is a breather to the large outer tank. If you send me your email address, I will try to find a .jpg picture of the vacuum tank mounted on the firewall. pughs@pacbell.net
  22. Darren,
The jump seats were standard in the limousine and other seven passenger
body style built on the 145 inch chassis. The cars at my website are all
131" chaasis. I will measure the doors on my limousine in the next week
or two and let you know the size, but I am quite sure that they are
exactly the same size at the top and bottom of each partcular door.
Also, please send emails to my address or go to the bottom of my web page to email me. The posts that I am getting from you are being forwarded by peterg(webmaster).
Steve Pugh

    Brown taillight for a 28

I believe Jack Greenleaf had several for sale on the yellow field at Hershey last year. He is a member of the Stutz club.
