  5. Hi guys and gals I have recently acquired a lot of Studebaker parts and found a 12 Cylinder distributor mixed in with the bunch. I have checked with a friend of mine and he said it is not for the Pierce Arrow V12 but for a 1940's Seagraves V12. I just don't know enough about these. The distributor is missing it internals. It does have a very nice cap and rotor. They even look new. I have attached a couple of pictures as I need to sell this distributor and hope someone can use it. The price is $130 postage paid The Commander ...

  7. Hi Guys I have recently acquired some antique Studebaker parts that I would like to sell. I have a reproduced drivers side cowl light stand. I believe it is for the 1929/1930 Commander and/or Dictators. It appears that it has been re-cast in bronze. Very nice detail, holes drilled and checked. I have bead blasted it. Ready for chrome and install. Price ... $130 postage paid. The Commander ...
  8. Hi Forum readers I have recently acquired some antique Studebaker parts that I would like to sell. I believe this is the lower front radiator shield for a 1930 President with shutters. I thought it was for my Commander but it is larger by just about an inch. The dimensions are 21 inches wide and 5 1/2 inches tall. It is an original part and is in excellent shape with no rust. I have bead blasted it and put it in primer. Price ... $130 postage paid Thanks for looking The Commander ...
  9. Hi guys. Just wanted to let everyone know that the 1915 Roadster was sold today! Thanks for looking The Commander
  10. I have decided to sell my very rare 1915 Roadster. I’ve<var id="yui-ie-cursor"></var> owned it for over 5 years. I have too many cars and it is time to move it along to a new owner. It is a Model SD 4 cylinder. Since I have owned it I have done many repairs. The first was the complete front end rebuild. I had my machinist rebuild the axle. I also installed all new wheel bearings and I had brand new front axle springs made. I also had him rebuild the steering box with all new bearings. I have also rebuilt the driveshaft; it has all new custom made parts. I also had to re-do the windshield and stands. I have just recently changed the oil in the engine, transmission and rear end. I just rebuilt the rear brakes. I had new original style material installed and rebuilt all the fittings. The car is not perfect but it is very dependable and is ready for someone to finish what I have started. More pictures if interested. If you have any questions or interested, just send me an email. If no one is interested, it will be put on ebay. The Commander Rick Los Angeles
  11. Hey guys and gals Help! I need a new rag joint for my 1924 Special Six. This is the large one that goes between the clutch and transmission. It has 8 holes in it and is about .312 (5/16) of an inch thick and 9 inches across. I have the remains of my old one for a pattern but no usable material. Any one have a new replacement, knows of someone that reproduces them or where I can buy the material. I have been through the McMaster Carr catalog and even called them. I also checked on line. No luck Any ideas? The Commander
  12. Hi 24 StudeCoupe, I just finished rebuilding a 1924 Special Six oil pump. You will not have any bad surprises as it is all steel. Just make sure that you check the clearances inside the pump. After cleaning my pump, I set the clearance at .003 by using/checking with plastigauge. Plasigauge can be found at most auto parts stores, it is the same as what you use to check rods and cranks clearances. Just a note, I know for a fact that the 1927 Big Six and the 1917 Six cylinder (354) are also steel. NO pot metal. The Commander
  13. Hi Gary So far ... looks good! If you get a chance in the near future. I have an suggestion about your adapter. Rick
  14. Hey guys I'm working on a 1917 Model ED-6 Touring. So far I've removed the drive shaft and clutch and flywheel. They are out being repaired. The engine is now ready to be lifted out. Now here is the question. Have any of you lifted a cast in bloc engine. I do not want to take any more parts off the engine than I have too. Such as the intake, exhaust manifolds and accessories. I have been looking at the engine and it appears I can use some bolts on the passenger side but nothing on the drivers side. I'm afraid to use the spark plug holes, with my luck I will pull the threads out. I have also thought of having plugs made for the "valve access plugs" under the spark plugs and primer cups. My machinist said that I maybe taking a chance and bust the block. Since these parts don't grow on trees. A friend says use straps and wrap the engine than lift the picker. Anyone out there have any more ideas or factory pictures of lifting these beasts? The Commander
  15. HI Dodge Guys! I was wondering if I could get some help. I do not know anything about DB cars as I'm a Studebaker guy and need some help. Today I was asked if I was interested in buying this Dodge Brothers Sedan. The owner claims it is a "1926 Formal Sedan". I have been on numerous web pages. Is this a 1926 as the motor does not match other pictures I found. Need to know what it is worth and is anyone interested in it. The owner is flexible as far as the price. I have attached numerous pictures. He claims he drove it to this spot in 2002, Questions: What is it? What is it really worth? Anyone interested? Thanks for the help! It's in Los Angeles, California. The Commander

  22. Hi Guys Interesting notes. Just for everyone's information. A 1914 truck was just recently found in the Sacramento area. The owner called me and wanted to know if I knew anyone that might be interested in buying it. I notified two of my friends (brothers) and they contacted the owner and they are now the proud new owners. The So Cal Chapter of the Club just had an unveiling of the truck 2 weeks ago in Northridge, Ca. I just got off the phone with another friend and he will be doing all the wood work on it, he is a cabinet maker. The truck is missing the windshield, hood, side lamps and head lights. The rest is all there! The previous owner says that he was told that it last ran in 1972 and was put away in a garage since then. All the work on the truck will be documented from start to finish. Watch for it in it's present condition in an up-coming issue of The Antique Review.
  23. Dave The reason the dash does not look right as I believe the car that was on ebay is a 1916 Model SF Series 16 roadster. I have a 1915 Model SD roadster and the dashes are different. Mark is right about the axles. You have to be very careful of the cone clutches in these, if they are adjusted or oiled correctly...they will break something. if you have any more questions ..send me an email I have attached a picture of my roadster. :cool:The Commander
  24. Jerry and Mark, Until we can see some numbers, we won't be able to identify it. Mark...It has a down draft manifold so it can not be a 1929 or 1930. :cool:The Commander:cool:
  25. Dan, Here is a couple of pictures of a 1929 Commander. You can see the difference. Also, you can see the bar missing on your car that should be between the head lights. Mark, can you tell me anything about this this car? :cool:The Commander:cool:
