  1. Hi Guys The settings on the Big and Special Six engines is .006 to .009. Since it is very hard to adjust them when the engine is hot ... I always adjust all my valves cold. I set them at a loose .007 and a very tight .008. The Commander
  2. Doug No tubes inside the Big Six Motor. Water is pumped directly into the top of the barrels and then onto the head. After cooling the head area the water exits directly to the radiator Rick
  3. Roaring 20's I sent you an email with some more picture The Commander
  4. HI Trimacar, It's still sitting in my garage. I have had a couple of interested people look at it. But it is still available The Commander
  5. 1931 Studebaker President Four Season Roadster. When is the last time you have seen one of these for sale and a complete original at that. So, here is your chance to own one. I bought it from and an estate. I have already completed all the (California) paperwork and it is in my name. This car appears to be all original but it appears to have had one repaint in its life. It is a California car with almost zero rust (one tiny spot). It also has excellent wood. This Roadster has a very nice body and has its original worn upholstery. The windshield stanchion on the passenger side is broken. Also a couple of pieces in the top assembly are missing. The engine is complete but was told that it is stuck. I have not tried to check it. I have about 50 more pictures that I can email. So if you want to own one of the most desirable Studebakers, here it is. This car is not cheap, $65,000 ... if you are still interested, email studerickpet@pacbell.net I will also be posting it on Facebook and if still not sold, it will be going on eBay. The Commander

  8. Studebaker Guys ... I hope I can get some help! I want to buy an original Serial Plate from a 1921 and a 1922 Light Six. I only want one from a car that does not exist anymore. It is important that the numbers are readable. I'm not to concerned with the condition but I would like to get the nicest I can. The serial numbers for the 1920/21 Light Six's are 1,000,001 thru 1,035,849 The serial numbers for the 1922 Light Six's are 1,035,003 and up I do not need a new reproduction plate. Thanks The Commander studertp@pacbell.net I have attached a serial plate from my collection. This is from a 1930 Model FC Dictator that I once owned.
  9. Why are you messing with it, over heating, poor water circulation, noises? The Commander

  11. I have decided to sell my 1927 Commander Roadster as I have more projects that I would like to finish. As you will notice that it is not stock. The Big Six (354ci) engine was just rebuilt and all tolerances checked, fresh valve job, head tested for cracks and machined flat, installed grade 8 studs, billet aluminum pulleys with sealed bearing, after market fan, 6 volt positive ground alternator, custom Chevrolet distributor, new 6 volt battery, custom made downdraft intake manifold with Holley 350 CFM 2 barrel carburetor, lightened flywheel, new clutch assembly, custom bell housing and Chevrolet Blazer (T-5) 5 speed transmission with custom Chevy drive shaft. Exhaust system only 3 years old. This Roadster has the 3.2 rear end. Tires are about 5 years old with only a few hundred miles. I do have most of the top assembly and new oak bows (not finished). I have only about 20 miles on the car since I have done all this work. Body is very nice, needs minor body work (NO rust) , does need some paint. All wood excellent. It is currently registered and all paperwork up to date. If you are interested, send me a note. NOT CHEAP! The Commander studertp@pacbell.net

  14. A friend of mine has asked me to sell his1927 Dictator Model EU Sedan. I have posted a few pictures here so if you are interested contact me.If no one is interested in it, It will be going on Ebay in a day or two but I thought I would post it here first and save some EBay fees. As you can see it is really nice having had a complete restoration about 15 years ago. The car run and drives and is currently registered in California. The engine is going to need to be checked as it has some noises. Not sure exactly what the problem is. But as I said he has been driving it this way for years. The price is $12,000. If interested I can send more pictures The Commander studertp@pacbell.net
