FireballV8 replied to FireballV8's topic in Buick - Buy/Sell
Thriller What did you pay for yours? Last night I looked in Old Cars Price guide and it lists the price in #4 condition at $4,800. If that's the case I am selling mine too cheap. thx -

It is a California car located in SO CAL. It is registered and usable as is, but needs cosmetics. Good summer project $2,500 or Best offer. steveclassic@earthlink.net thanks

Anyone need a frame for a 55 Roadmaster 2 door hardtop? It is a nice California frame. Located in SO CAL. Only frame nothing else on it. $250 or best offer. I used it as a dolly to restore my convert and I am almost done. Thanks steveclassic@earthlink.net

Scott They make more mistakes than anyone else. A few issues back there was a picture of the inside of a trunk that was upside down. It's time for a new editor/printer.

Has anyone used white post in CT for restoration of brake boosters and master cylinders? I used them and I don't think they do any of the work on it. I think they send it elsewhere and charge more than twice what the other place charges. Anyone notice this???????????

Who is behind the tower top hose clamp ruse?
FireballV8 replied to imported_buick5563's topic in Buick - General
Mike I have a parts book from 1956 and they clearly show Buick worm type clamps for both the heater hose as well as the radiator hose, they have the Buick Script engraved into them. So technically worm type clamps are correct for a 55 and NO points should be deducted. -
That's what I thought, but I filled it up when I left and refilled it again when I got back, it was 145 miles and it took 5.3 gallons of gas. it comes out to 27.4xx miles per gallon. Any other answers to as why?

You need to adjust the linkage at the top by the carb, read the shop manual it describes how to do it. Good luck

The early 88's had the Hydramatic trans, but later 88's could have had the Jet away or the hydramatic, so yours is probably correct from factory with the jetaway.

I drove my olds on a trip this weekend and on the way back averaged 28 miles per gallon, has anyone else experienced gas mileage like this? It has a 324 V8 with a rochester 4-Jet four barrel carb? thx

Hi Everyone The car is completely finished now including full trunk upholstery in correct fabric and cardboard. The car scored over 900 points in its class at the Olds Pacific Southwest zone meet and got a First place award. I drove it about 400 miles to the meet and back with no trouble. Any interest?? steveclassic@earthlink.net Thanks

John Do you want to lower the back half down or do you want to remove the whole seat top & bottom out of the car?

You think this is interesting. In Flint I saw a 56 "Century" Convertible. The owner was 100% sure it was a Century, but instead it was a Special with Century exterior trim. People try to cheat potential buyers with stupid tricks like this. I'll see if I can find a picture of it.

I have decided to sell my 1955 Oldsmobile Rocket 88 Holiday 2 Door Hardtop. It is a restored car in great condition. It is an original California black plate car, in red & white exterior color and red interior color. The engine was rebuilt a few thousand miles ago around 7,000 miles. It has a four barrel rochester 4-Jet with correct batwing air cleaner. Odometer shows 87,900 miles. The car has a new upholstery with newely painted dash, correct Daytona Weave carpet with correct heal pad. It has Power brakes, I have a power steering setup for it but it is not installed yet, it has a clock, windshield washer, courtesey lights, deluxe radio and full disk wheel covers. Everything works on the car, including clock, radio, windshield wipers, the windshield wiper washer, lights, all gauges, horns etc. This car is in excellent mechanical condition and it runs great and stops great. I have driven it all over the place on long and short trips and it is wonderful. The body has no bondo on it anywhere and it wears about a 15 year old repaint, the chrome is excellent except for a couple of minor flaws on rear bumper. It does not need anything other than a new owner to enjoy her. Please email for pictures steveclassic@earthlink.net I am currently redoing the trunk with new cardboard and correct cloth material, I will be showing it at the OCA Pacific Zone Meet in Santa Maria in mid May. I would like $17,500 for it and have spent a lot on it in the past year taking care of little flaws. It is located in Los Angeles. Thanks
