  1. I think still I have both the Pepsi and the Budweiser that they shot with Gordon's red Amphicar and the kite skier that was never aired due to concerns over drunk driving.

This is an animated GIF of some stills shot for Automotive Quarterly of me in 1995

  2. Buying off EBay is not easy for a State Agency.

Glass would be fine , we just need to keep honest people honest.

Would like to fine a free standing large display case to house entire collection. Maybe 8-10 feet long no restriction on height.

Don't have a lot to spend need to get it for under $2K under $1K would be great.

  3. We have an older gentleman donating a model car collection to our Library. It is 100 + cars of all scales for 2 inch to 12 inches.

Can any of you give me any idea about where to purchase a display case to house such a collection. It would need to be secure as we plan on displaying it out in a public area.

  4. My guess would be fuel starvation.

Amphicars have a bad habit of vapor locking when boating.

if you look the fuel line runs around the head, and get very hot.

Relocate the fuel line of wrap it with foil. That worked on all mine.

The one I used to show I used the wooden clothespin idea and it worked but I never really drove that one the hard.

I was always surprised how much harder he motor had to work in the water than on land.

  5. Since ours was a drag car it was easy.

we did it in 2 trips

Trip one Engine and trans and tires and wheels.

Trip 2 Frame and body, (body was fiberglass so it came off easy)

I would think pull tha cab, fenders and bed off the frame would do it.

    maybe the engine?

He will be removing all of those anyway.

  6. When automakers donate new cars for educational proposes it state that the vehicle can never be driven on any public street and must be crushed when the school is finished using it. Usually the cars are carrier damage, customer buy backs, non EPA approved modifications and they do not want any liability. Unfortunately we have to crush a lot of valuable cars. Currently we have Toyota Tundra #00001 that will have to be crushed. Lots times we get prototypes and preproduction show cars. We have gotten Indy Pace cars based on the model year before car.

We have a Supercharged Riviera that is the year before the supercharger was an option.

It?s a shame but we have crushed some real desirable cars, IROCs, a GNX, lots of convertibles. We have a guy in our region who collect Indy Pace cars and he would die for some of the cars we have had, but we must show ?proof of total destruction.?

  7. In my Dykes Carburetor supplement (1928)

It has full information on the Type "O"

and states at the end of that section

"The OE is the same as the Model "O" with the auxiliary gasoline control left off and is made in 1" 1 1/4" and 1 1/2" sizes.

So if you have information on the type "O" that should work. smirk.gif

  8. I am looking for the cheapest way to transport 2 cars from Dallas TX to Vincennes IN.

Cars can not be driven on public streets, must be hauled. Open or dolly transport OK.
