    suchan,

just tryingto find a spark, these cars will be offer e;sewhere soon.  thanks for your interest.

Unless it's an extremely rare and sought after car, not likely to get a spark without any pictures at the very least and some expectations of price.  Almost nobody wants to "make offer" and wait an unknown time to maybe or maybe not ever hear anything back.

Sorry if this comes off rude, just trying to set honest expectation.

Looks like this one is on consignment. If the seller walks away with $18K they will be doing good.   I bought a 55 (2008) and a 58 Roadmaster  (2015) and sold them in 2015 and 2019 respectively and was fortunate not to lose money as the market never really showed an upside.  If I really wanted one, this one looks like a excellent candidate. My expectation if I planned to sell it after 5 years would be to at best break-even to losing a few thousand.

I have come to think of it like this - if you are buying a car as an investment, choose carefully based on potential upside.  If you are buying so that you can enjoy driving the car, don't worry if you lose some value down the road as you will have gotten the utility of enjoying it.  I had more cars than I had time to enjoy and since they didn't have future upside potential I had to let a couple go.  Now I can enjoy the couple I have left and don't fret the future value and I won't be selling anytime soon.

    Hello,

I need to replace my rear U-Joint on my 57 Century 4dr hardtop and I am looking for a replacement as this one is shot.

What is the current model number to replace this U Joint?

I have searched and a 534G or 234 was the replacement part, but the cups are too big.  We went to the parts store with the old one and measured it and nothing matches.  If anyone knows, please let me know.

    Thank you,

    Jason

I have a couple extra ones new, not sure which style, but if you PM with size of yours I'll let you know if I have the one you need, if you want.  Not looking to get rich on them.

Do you mean that the overheated market is

cooling off, or that 1950's cars are less popular

than they used to be, or...?

It would be interesting to hear your insights.

Maybe both of those are happening.

Both.  Most 50's cars have peaked, and the market for most has also cooled down dramatically from the Covid boom.  I regularly see cars for prices the old me would have jumped at a few years ago.  Almost nobody is authentically restoring them anymore except for the Impalas and some rare gems.

I'm probably gonna have to replace the metal lines.

Don't hesitate.  I've had a couple near death experiences from  brought out of hibernation and will never again drive an old car with old lines without replacing lines.  The brake fluid absorbs moisture over time and they'll rot from the inside out where it's settled then suddenly pop if you apply hard pressure.
