  1. I saw a similar Buick fire truck here at a local car show in Mankato, MN. Don't remember the year but it was fully restored and it was perfect. The guy told me it was a factory produced fire truck. I think it was a 1915 or 1918.
  2. yeah, it was a beautiful car. I'm in the mood to get one now.
  3. Back in 1976 I ran my '60 Invicta floored and "buried" the speedo at 120+. I know that indicated and actual speed are two different speeds. Anyway, before I let off the gas at 120+, it still felt like it was accelerating but hard to tell. The front end got very light. Felt like I could turn the steering wheel a 1/4 turn and still go straight. After I let off the gas, I thought I sucked all the oil out of the pan as a huge cloud of smoke shot out of the tail pipe. All of this was done with 3 of my college buddies in the car. BTW, that car was regularily driven at 95-100 as my girlfriend at the time lived 60 miles away and there were only county roads between. It seemed the right thing to do at the time but now it seems really stupid as half the time I was running on bald tires. Still own the car.
  4. I looked into towing a '60 here and U-Haul will not rent a trailer to tow the car. They claim their trailers are not big enough.
  5. Go to www.msra.com , and follow the links to nonoxygenated fuel. BTW, MSRA is Minnesota Street Rod Assoc., not Michigan. Sorry.
  6. As I see it, the latest ethanol band wagon everybody is jumping on is a "politically correct" choice. Everybody on both sides of the political fence is jumping on it. The claims are that it pollutes less, gets us off of foreign oil, and helps the farmers. However, while ethanol does give off less emissions than gasoline of some pollutants, it gives off more of others. So the claim that ethanol is clean burning is false. Second, I believe that the number of net btu's you get out of ethanol is still less than gasoline. In other words, ethanol uses more energy than gasoline and does not really help us get off of foreign oil. This is changing with newer technologies, however I believe it is still less as of today. So the bottom line is that this is all just a big production to help the farmer and ADM while making us feel good about saving gas and the environment. I don't mind the voluntary use of ethanol, but here in the socialist state of MN, ethanol is mandated and that is what get me cranked up about the whole thing. BTW, ethanol does degrade any rubber parts on your old carburators. Packard guy, MSRA publishes a list of gas stations selling real gasoline. They have it on their website also.
  7. Tom, looking forward to seeing your incredible car again.
  8. check out ebay item #7960846482.
  9. Greg, I don't know if you have my 60 custom coupe on your list, but I have one. I've corresponded with you in the past.
  10. Greg, You didn't say how much. How much?
  11. Back in 1990 I was flying somewhere and a lawyer riding in the seat next to me said he got busted at 128 by a cop. He had a 90 reatta coupe if I remember correctly.
  12. If your selling I'd be very interested!
  13. Fred, Yeah, that's the same car I saw. Good luck on your search. I am looking for a '60 2 door hardtop. I know there are some out there, but I am fussy. Wayne
  14. Not sure, can't hook up to the hooked on classics site right now for some reason. Saw the car at a small local dealer in Winthrop MN in July, then saw the same car at another dealer near the twin cities last week. (not hooked on classics). If I can hook up to hooked on classics I will be able to tell. I've seen the car in person. Nice car looking at it quickly. Did not give it a thorough look over.
  15. There is a beautiful salmon colored '59 4 door hardtop up here at a dealer. Don't know what he is asking but if you are interested I can find out.
  16. Can't do green. Have too many green cars now. If it wasn't green I'd jump on it. Looks very nice. I know, I'll get flamed for being too picky.
  17. I've looking for a 1960 Invicta 2 Door hardtop for a very long time. I've been searching the web and all the other sources. Everytime a nice two door hardtop comes up for sale whether Invicta or otherwise it is selling for 20k or more! You can buy a 2 door chevy cheaper. Very nice 1960 convertibles are cheaper. Are 2 door hardtop 60 buicks that rare?
  18. 4 door or 2 door? color? location? thanks
  19. I've owned a 90 Reatta and a 91 Riv. The 91 Riv is still probably my most favorite car I've ever owned, and I have owned vettes and classic buicks. Sold the Riv. because I got a company car. Never had a problem with the car. Would consider buying another low mile car if I found one.
  20. I have a NOS mirror. Can't remember if it is passenger or driver. Will check.
  21. The car is located in southern Minnesota. The motor is the base 364 with a 2 barrel carb. It only has 23k miles on it. The rest of the body is shot. I will probably be taking the tranny, brakes, etc. Have no idea what I want for the motor. Just hate to see it go to waste.
  22. I am parting out a 1960 LeSabre with a high efficient 2 barrel motor 364. The car has only 23k miles but the body is gone. I will be using most of the parts but will not need the motor. Any body interested?
