3. I just bought from Buick Farm again. Its not many places you can find a Brand New Windshield for a 1950 Estate Wagon any more.
They had one and were willing to work with me on getting together to get it.
Bill
 4. On my 1950 Buick, I am stripping off all the mud and grease from 50 years and I am starting to see the true colors.
It looks like the front of the rear end where the torque tube connects is red not black like I would expect it to be.
Could this be true ? Its a 1950 Buick Estate Wagon model 59.
Thanks
Bill

 6. I found this on the Buick Board and I thought I would pass it along.....
On 9/27/00, my Dad's 1939 Buick Convertible Coupe, model 46C, was stolen at Memphis, Texas. He had this car for the past 24 years. The pick up and enclosed car trailer it was in was also stolen. The Buick is restored and in showroom condition. The color is maroon with a black top. The interior has maroon door panels with a white leather seat. It does not have side mounts but does have fender lights. The frame number is13543899. The engine number is 43631340. The car has about 11,000 miles on it since restoration. It had Texas plates at the time of theft. We are devestated by this loss. Reward is offered. I will post photos soon. Please call (505) 662-7012 with any information or email kenandjeanu@earthlink.net
7. I read your messages and while I was sitting in church on Sunday, I got the idea on how to make it safe.
I spent Sunday afternoon pouring 12" X 23" round concrete columns to set the 4 / 4 's on. Those will not crumble, break, or let the car crush me.
Now I need to figure how to get them into the back of my truck. Those things are HEAVY.
Bill
 8. I need parts for a 1950 Buick Super Estate Wagon.
Looking for a front door Skin and trim parts.
Contact me at bstoneberg@ev1.net.
Thanks
Bill
 9. Ok,
If you dont like the concrete blocks, how about an example of what you all have used.
I have no beams in this metal building to hang it, so it has to sit on the floor whatever the solution.
I want to be safe too so my wife can enjoy the fruits of my labor (this is her car).
Bill
 10. Hey Matt,
If you have to threaten this people with Lawyers, why do you want to join so badly ?
There have to be other clubs in your area.
Bill

 12. There is a Straight 8 and dynaflow from 1950 on E-bay for a buck. No Reserve.
It is in California.
Look for 1950 buick and you will find it.
Bill
 13. Hi Debbie,
You can check the value of your old Buick at http://www.nada.com.
If it was my car, I would probably post it on this board, and also in the buick club amagazine. You can find them at http://www.buickclub.org.
Good luck.
Bill
 14. Depending on how much you plan to spend have you thought about cash or travelers checks ?
I have found that most people will accept cash much more readily than almost any other commodity.
Bill
 15. Huey,
You are right about both the saftey and the bolts breaking. I have no need to be crushed by a station Wagon.
The lat body bolt I tried to take off did break, so that means a session with a drill and EZ outs.
I have plenty of floor jacks and a forklift that I am going to use on Friday to take it off. I cant wait to try to put it on.
I will post pictures and descriptions on my website over the weekend.
Bill
 16. Jim
Thanks for the lead on the book. I have a similar on for the 48 - 53 series and it is a good resource. I bid on this one just to have another copy.
Did you do your own wood working ? I have been looking at mine and I think I can do it. I tend to agree with Hal that you can get satisfaction from doing it yourself.
I am all ready to pull the body off, all the bolts are out and I am just supporttting it now. Friday is the day it will come off.
Bill
 17. Jim,
How was your friends experience with JB ? I haven't heard anything about other peoples experiences with him.
I will call him today even though I am at least a year away from getting the wood replaced.
Bill
 18. Jim,
Pizza and beer ?? Maybe down here in Texas it will be Fajitas and Margaritas (Afterwards).
Yes, I knew going into this what wood would cost. I still went ahead with this project. It is something I have always wanted and always wanted to do.
That said, thanks for the ideas on getting it off the frame.
If you want to see the car it is at in the restoration you can look at: http://users.ev1.net/~bstoneberg
Bill
 19. OK Jim,
What is properly braced and supported ?
The wood is in terrible shape, I need all new wood anyway. I was just leaving it on to help support the body.
Are there interior braces that I need to add ?
Bill
 20. Dave,
You have to be kidding about Lucas Pacemakers ??? Right ??? Please tell me you are kidding...
I have alway known Lucas as the Prince of Darkness or The reason the the Brits dring their Beer warm (Lucas Refridgerators).
Bill
Former owner of all kinds of British Sportscars. I emphisize FORMER.
 21. I am at the point where I want to pull my Buick Woodie body off the frame. I am ready to start pulling the bolts out and was wondering exactly how to lift it and what to watch for.
I am going to leave the doors, glass and what remains of the floor in to strengthen it but should I brace it more ?
Can I replace the floors with the body off or should I wait till it goes back on or do it before ?
Ideas or comments anyone.
Thanks
Bill
22. You may want to contact the Central Texas Auto Museum in Rosanky Texas. They have an original Stanley Steamer on display there.
Bill
 23. I have had nothing but good luck wih BuickFarm. I have bought connecting rods and a NEW NOS windshield from him.
No problems and no insults.
BTW you may want to try Buick Specialists up in Washington State. That is where I spend most of my money.
Bill
 24. I have a question for you...
Why dont you pull your engine and do everything ? If you want to do a valve job and replace the bearing, it probably makes sense to go ahead and do rings too. I would.
Just my opinion.
Bill
 25. I hope trucks are included...
Right now I have a 1987 Dodge Pickup that has had no major work done to it. It has the 318 in it and has gone everywhere and done everything in its life.
It has hauled horses, boats and cars. It has gone from California to New York. It has 345,000 miles and still only burns 1/2 oil between changes. It only gets about 14 mpg but has a 45 gallon tank so I can do some cruising. Its more comfortable then my new Dodge and the AC still works.
Cars are a different story, we had a 1960 Rambler Station Wagon that we had for 10 years. Learned to drive on that one. Made the mistake of trading it in on a Vega.
Mostly, I drive trucks.
Bill
