1. As an attendee with a car in the very large Full Classic Class (the largest class I beleive), I am surprised at this post. I thought the event was a very nice event, and well attended. I believe that since it is held on the Circle the city will not let the organizers charge admission. Yes you have to watch your cars since many of the attendees are not car people and don't "know the rules" when it comes to personally addressing cars of this magnitude, but this is really a minor inconvenience. I know of no cars that were damaged in any way. It is kind of refreshing to have a show where regular people get to see cars that would normally be only viewed from behind ropes in a museum. If we are to increase the interest in our cars by future generations we need to open things up a bit. If the admission charge was 30 bucks I can guarantee you that we would not have had 40,000 people through the event. I actually thought it was a very nice show of a variety of eras and classes of cars, was well organized, and I left with just the opposite opinion-That this event will continue to flourish and grow since it isnt such a elitest affair. 2. Actually you need to call Walt Reynolds at 317-243-9772. I think we do have wide tread covers for modern tires. the side wall covers are getting scarce buy them while we have them, the vender doesnt want to make them anymore and we havent found a new vender. Shawn Miller Indiana Region
3. the fix for problem # 9 is the "Richardson conversion". An ACD member came up with a way to install modern FWD componetry inside of original units which eliminates the need to grease the hubs. It also makes the unit much more rugged and reliable for long distance touring. The fix for Problem # 8 is to have your original wheels magafluxed to detect any cracks before they become dangerous and welded if cracks are found. If you have heavy duty wheels which were used in 37 cars there is less likelyhood they will crack in the first place, 36 cars are the most likely to have this problem. There is a guy in the club that has produced some new wheels which of course will solve this problem once and for all. Metal Fatigue is a real issue in any car of this age and care should always be taken when driving any car of this era. Shawn
4. That would be great if Cords had Running boards! HA! Actually there are fixes for every one of these little irritants. Interest in Cords by new collectors is rising greatly, so I thought this might be a good place to discuss these problems and fixes. Even with these irritating problems it is well worth it to own a Cord. They are among the best driving Pre War cars, not to mention pretty fast.
5. I am a cord owner, actually on my second one, and do love it dearly so I hope noone takes offense to this post, you have to have a sense of humor to be a long term Cord owner. 10.it doesn't shift all the time 9.it spews grease from the front wheels (if this isn't the case you are out of grease) 8.the wheels are cracked, and/or have flown off the car while at speed, 7.You cant take the hubcaps off to grease the hubs and tighten the nuts without damaging them. 6.then there's the porcelain heads 5.the windshield leaks 4.how could I forget the hot water coming in and scalding the passengers feet. 3.it is prone to bursting into flames 2.the aerodynamics of the hood make it prone to opening at speed, (which can come in handy when it bursts into flames). 1.it is impossible to do anything without removing the fence, doing anything is a 2 man job. the top reason of course: Where would we be without all the cuts and bruises? I refer to Cords as the Glass Slipper of the automotive world, arguably the most beautiful "production" car ever made, but very very delicate. Flame Suit on! Shawn
6. Jon, well they just need to look OK. I dont think this will be more than a display chassis for some time, they need to hold air, although I could buy new tubes. I will be flying but could grab them and get them over to UPS while there. Shawn
7. Have a display chassis project and need a set of tires, 650 or 700 x 20 blackwall fine. Since I dont foresee this being roadworthy anytime soon they just need to look OK not be flawless.

9. neat picture Walt! What a shame neither of the subjects survive, particularly your Dad. He was a unique person, the kind of person one rarely meets in todays world. Shawn
10. 1932 Packard 900 Sedan Asking $32,500 (Reasonable offers considered) The Light 8 was Packards attempt at producing a more affordable car, and was produced for only one year. A CCCA Full Classic, the Light 8 is legendary for its handling and drivability, as well as the extremely stylish Shovel Nose Grill. This car is pretty much a fresh cosmeticly restored car. Although the work was completed 10 years ago the car has been driven less than 200 miles since the restoration. It runs, drives, and stops well. Everything is in excellent condition and the paint job, body work, and interior is very very nice. There are some minor chrome issues on the rear bumper, the sidemount mirror stems, and one hubcap which will be easily attended to. This is a perfect CARavan car, and will show nicely as well. 12. 1915 Model T Depot Hack Asking $19,750 (Reasonable offers considered) This great Model T is in excellent running and driving condition. It was restored by the current owner about 15 years ago and is used sparingly so is still in very nice condition. It features a distributor and rocky mountain brakes, as well as a lot of Brass and a realy nice wood body. This is a rare opportunity to get a nice driving T with a really unique body that will be the hit of any early ford show or tour you take it to. The car is very nice throughout and will not disappoint. The Vehicle is located in Connecticut. Shawn Miller SignificantCars.com 800-837-9902 smiller@significantcars.com
13. 1941 Plymouth 2D Sedan Asking $14,500 (Reasonable offers considered) This car was purchased from the second owner in Evansville IN, where it was built, 27 years ago by the current owner-a well known Chrysler Collector. He just completed a comprehensive restoration of the car to show quality standards. The car has a brand new high quality paint job as well as all new chrome plating to very high standards. The car was mechanically restored including rebuilding the motor, and the undercarriage is detailed and ready for the show circuit. The original seats, which are in excellent condition, are preserved under clear plastic seat covers, and the original wood grained dash has been clearcoated. New headliner, carpets, and door panels were installed. The car starts, runs, and drives very well. The Vehicle is located in Indiana. 14. Thanks for the info Jay. I did sell the car, and was going off of what a good friend who was a major cohntributor to the Splendid Stutz told me as to the model designation. the key word here is "roadster". I was told it is a Bearcat Roadster, not a bearcat. Shawn
15. The widest car I have ever seen was last in the collection of Dean Kruse- the "Father Divine" car. A rolls I believe with just a hugely wide body. It could be bought, I would think.

21. the AC would be the only thing I think we would deduct points for in judging it (depending on what car we are talking about here), but it would be very welcome on tours or events. you haven't ruined the car or anything. now if you added a small block chevy to a crosley or something it might be a different story. HA! Shawn Miller
22. Thanks Dave...I hesitated to use the aerosol thing...didnt want to cause even more discoloration. Shawn
