  2. Wow what a find! so whats it going to be installed on?
  3. 10 second intervals would be more than enough if the cars weren't going to be stopped by 5 people on the way to their spot. if cars were alternated by class you wouldnt have people getting in each others way when parking. As it is it takes 3 hours or more to get everyone in, and cars are getting damaged by the grueling idling. start the process earlier, say 6:30 Just a thought from a newbie
  4. This was my first year as a car show participant, but I have been a specatator for a few years so knew to expect a long delay in "the gauntlet" getting in, so brought a good runner, but even it stalled and I had to keep my foot in it in order to make it in there. I do think the value of having a route cars drive in for spectators to hang out and watch is enjoyable for everyone, car owners as well. The ACD festival Parade of Classics used to be a gauntlet, but they have made it very easy by holding cars at the beginning of the route and spacing them out so they just drive on by slowly. Maybe if you come up with a place everyone can go and park, get their registration packets (who waits until Sat to get this anyway?), space assignments and dash plaques, and then be released onto the parade route at a certain interval this would eliminate the back ups. I had a great time and will definitely bring a car again next year. I thought the show was great and love the grass versus pavement. Thanks for all your hard work.
  5. West, No the Duesie fits the description of a conservatively painted nickel era car. It has blackwalls. Shawn
  6. Oh and BTW, I like WW tires. Not on British cars, Nickel era cars, or conservatively painted cars, but otherwise I will usually opt for them on my Full Classics. they make a car look nice. Dandy if you will. Face it we like to be noticed or we would all be driving Toyotas. Guess I am just a flashy kind of guy.
  7. WOW Finally after about 6 years of being your webmaster we have a discussion that has elicited great response, and a fun excange! I knew it would happen. I knew eventually all this web stuff would be more than just "gee we know we have to have a presence, even though our members don't give 2 hoots about the internet". Great to see this. I will return to my web duties renewed and reinvigorated that the time spent is actaully being seen by someone other than college students writing term papers. HA!
  8. I need a decent mascot, interior dash knobs and thumb screws for windshield mechanicism, and the LaS bar that goes between the headlights. thanks for any help. Shawn Miller
  9. Passenger side interior chrome molding. goes along top of door just below window. Also need both exterior door chrome/stainless moldings, go along bottom of door. Thanks in advance for any help
  10. Rand, I will see if I can get pictures of the correct guages. Thanks! Shawn
  11. this car is what is known as a first service car. They were used by funeral homes to go collect the deceased, hence the removable post and A/C Shawn Miller
  12. Just got one of these in. Old beater, has 19" wires installed, but came with a set of 24" discs that are supposed to be the correct wheels but they don't fit the 19" hubs. So I guess I will need a set of correct hubs if anyone has any lying idly about. Also has lovely SW 70's era guages so could use a set of those. Starter is missing, so that would be nice as well. I am sure more parts are missing. I have heard it is supposed to have pull down side curtains, but those are of course MIA. The headlight lenses say Hudson on them. If anyone knows anything about these or has one I would appreciate some advice. This is my first Studebaker. Shawn Miller
  13. I receive most of your Regional Print Publications, and thought it might be a good idea to add Regional Events to the National Website in order to bring in some new members to your events and or Regions. If you want an event put on the national site, email me the text and I will get it up there. Shawn

  16. Our Classifieds and Cars for Sale Page is the most frequently visited page on our website. Our policy has always been to wait a month before posting ads from the Bulletin in order to give our members first shot at those cars- we see this as a member benefit. Recently the number of cars for sale ads in the Bulletin has diminished. In order to keep content up, we have contacted member dealers and brokers and put their ads up on the site. We foresee this increasing and becoming one of the main revenue generators for the website. Obviously this may give an advantage as far as selling a car quickly to those who are not running their ads in the print publications. Should a member wish their ad to run on the website immediately all they have to do is email the ad to the webmaster. If our Classifieds and cars for sale page becomes one of the more useful pages for finding Full Classics on the web, this should only be a good thing for the Club. Your thoughts? Shawn

  20. I have a car with a Burt McCollum or Argyle Straight 8. We are in the throws of rebuilding it and are at a critical juncture where timing is important. My friend, an experienced mechanic, who is leading up this charge, I beleive is uncertain of himself on this project, so it has stalled. If anyone knows a shop that would be competent to handle this job, or if anyone has literature that would give us the correct timing information it would be greatly appreciated. This is an extremely rare motor and we don't want to do anything that will compromise its integrity. It is unfortunate that it was disaasembled but thats the way it was when I got it. One of the original sleeves has a large bulge/rip in it where obviously combustion occurred at the wrong time. the guy who disassembled it said this was why it wasnt runnign when he got it, which may be the case but I think he caused this problem. No matter, here we are! Shawn Miller
