  1. I am selling an exhaust manifold off of a model J. I am not sure what engine it came off of. The manifold is in rough shape. It has a crack in the middle. I have been told it can be repaired. The manifold is listed on E-Bay, item number 4633253232. I listed this evening, 4-19-06, for a three day auction.
  2. I have a nice 1932 Packard Twin Six ad on E Bay right now. It is June of 1932. There is a Pictairn Autogiro ad on the back. The item number is 7226906870
  3. I think I may have an extra Buffalo Lug Wrench. I saw it last as I was moving my cars and trucks to a new storage area. I will have to look again.
  4. Do you have any pictures of the truck? If so please post them. I will check the local fire truck guys and see what comes up. Walt
  5. I am selling J 159, the only Barker Town Car Duesenberg. E-mail me for more info and pics. This is an incredible car. It has been in the family and the club for many years. I have a web site for the car. www.myduesenbergcentral.com waltd@myduesenbergcentral.com
  6. My automotive interest so general. If it has an engine that makes noise I seem to be drawn to it. I got that from my dad. 1916 Ahrens Fox 1918 Mack AC Bulldog 1920 Stutz 1929 Duesenberg (for now) 1930 Pierce Arrow 1937 Pierce Arrow 1940 Ahrens Fox 1967 Pontiac LeMans Conv. (the beast) I tried to get dad into the muscle cars but he was more into the firetrucks.
  7. Sorry NovaMan, I thought you were asking about the Carb. The other box is part of the automatic chassis lube system.
  8. That is the up draft carb. Schebler in Indpls made them. Dual Overhead Cams also. Fred Duesenberg was all about power. At the same time in the same city Marmon was also putting out a beast. The Marmon V16.
  9. What about- Packard V12 Pierce Arrow Straight 8 and the V12 Marmon V16 1941 Cadillac V8 I am with my dad on this one-the Duesenberg is still the undisputed Champ! He had all these and the Duesenberg has the power. The Pierce V12 with Free Wheeling (OverDrive) is a great road car. Walt The engine in the attatchment is the engine in my Duesenberg. The car is 7,000lbs. For a 1929 this car flat out haul s the mail!!
  10. I am selling my Duesenberg. It is a 1929 Barker Body Town Car, J 159 The car has a web site www.myduesenbergcentral.com My e-mail is WaltD@myduesenbergcentral.com
  11. [color:\\"blue\\"] My father always dosconnected the battery on all his stored vehicles. Too much can go wrong with the harness while stored. The idea of having a battery carger running unattended sounds risky also. The lead acid battery is going to vent gas while charging. Boom! Cleaning the battery is also a good idea. When cleaning you need to neutralize the acid that is on the battery case and the battery box. Baking soda and water works well. Lead acid batteries start to degrade the day they are made. The more you charge them the more the plates sulfate. A couple of years on a 6v batt sounds ok. We just replace when needed and move on. One day there will new batts available that are much more robust ie Nickel Metal Hydride, NiMH. That is what the GOOD hybrid vehicles use. They take a beating and keep on working. Walt 1916 Ahrens Fox 1920 Stutz 1940 Ahrens Fox 1930 Pierce Arrow 1937 Pierce Arrow 1929 Duesenberg (for now) 1967 Pontiac Beast!
  12. The '34 Packard we recently sold was usd in NYC as a parade car. NYC gave Howard Hughs a ticker tape parade. His co-pilot rode in the '34. That car is a 7 pass touring car, 12 cyl. I would think that FDR would have rode in that car.
  13. I am not sure which Packard was in the fire. The '34 Packard that was just sold was a NYC Parade car. I wouls assume FDR rode in that one.
  14. Here is the front of the car.
  15. I am not sure. Dad is gone now and the car, with several others, burned in the late 1950s. This was one of the first cars that he bought as a collector. I am going through these slides and I am finding some really cool cars. I am attatching a picture of what he used to call the PierceAPacALlac. He said it didn't look so hot nut it sure did run good.
