1. Try this swedish site: http://www.pv-klubben.org/index_e.htm . This is the link direct to the english edition. I think there are not only PV Volvo or there are some links to other old Volvo sites.
Tom
  2. I can't vote for the US President, of course. But I have seen this nice Video of Mr. President Bill Clinton: "The Final Day". Nobody was there in the White House. I am sure you saw this video. I must say that I like your current President.
Tom
  3. Can you post a picture? It sounds a bit if it could be the plane for the hood of a 1956 Buick? But some Chevrolet and I think Oldsmobile had this, too?
Tom
------------------
Thomas Borchers
Member of AACA # 004829
HCCA and MAFCA
  4. Tod~~
The Red Rock Tour is a tour only for pre1914 cars. I think it is a 4 weeks tour with 3 weeks traveling with the cars. If am correct they traveled with their cars around 2000 miles. It's a strong tour and it needs a powerful car. This year it was in New Mexico and two years ago it was in Utah. 2 years ago I met the cars just after the Zion National Park. I think that means that the cars climbed up the hill in Zion.
Is this correct Jim, if you are here?
Tom
  5. Ron~~
You are always invited to see our collection here!
You see, I am looking for a nice person who would like to store an old car for me for a while. As you know I would like to make some time the Red Rock Tour or the Glidden Tour. This year I had the chance to make the Red Rock Tour because one person was ill or so but my Cadillac was already on the ship. Maybe in two years. I hope that I can have some time a place where I could store perhaps a Model A which I can use when I am in USA or to store an other car before I can or want to ship it.
Tom
  6. Ron~~
You should be careful with that what you say...otherwise you will have suddenly a car from me in your garage which I have to store in USA
But Peter G. or an other guy in CA would be better for me because I stay mostly in San Francisco if I am in USA.
Tom
  7. Thanks for the kind words!
Ernie~~Yes, I am still alive. I am sorry that we had no contact in the past!
Tom
  8. Rick~~
Now blue silicone by Permatex makes it very good. It works and I am happy.
Tom
  9. Hi, dear DFers.
Do you would like to see some photos of my 1912 Cadillac? Klick here: http://www.vintage-automobile.de/Autos_zum_Kaufen/messing/Cadillac1912/cadillac1912.html and you will see some.
Tom
------------------
Thomas Borchers
Member of AACA # 004829
HCCA and MAFCA
  10. I used these Loctite products sometimes and they work good but I am not sure if I would use it at the suspension, chassis, shocks and these important things. I prefer at these places lock washers, lock nuts or castle nuts with cotters.
Tom
------------------
Thomas Borchers
Member of AACA # 004829
HCCA and MAFCA
  11. Ok, you can use it as a 2nd "lock" but I think that it is not neccesary. But it could be a protection against rust at the threads?
Tom

    1928 dodge

Serial numbers are located on a plate on the toebord near steering column, also stamped on right front frame below fender. Engine numbers are located on the left rear side of cylinder block, right side of cylinder block and right side (either front or rear) below exhaust manifold.
Hope this helps.
Tom
------------------
Thomas Borchers
Member of AACA # 004829
HCCA and MAFCA
  13. Have this problem with our 1947 Lincoln: This car has hydraulic power windows and when I push the button for the window up, the window goes down. When I push the button down, the window goes down, too. Since some time one window moved itself to the down position. Ok, I think there must be a leak in the hydraulic system. I have found the motor for this system in the engine room but where is the reservoir for the hydraulic fluid for the power windows? I?ve no shop manual so perhaps someone can help me?
Thanks in advance.
Tom

------------------
Thomas Borchers
Member of AACA # 004829
HCCA and MAFCA

  15. In the history of the Adam Opel AG there was a dark time as GM called all 1928 Opel Regent cars back in the factory. The history says this and even that all cars were destroyed. But I think this isn't sure. Only 25 cars were produced of the biggest Opel.
Is there perhaps an 1928 Opel Regent in the USA? Who knows it?
Thomas
------------------
Thomas Borchers
Member of AACA # 004829
HCCA and MAFCA
  16. Chris~~
When I can make a round trip of 100 miles in my 1912 Cadillac, then you should do it with your car, too. Sounds good what you wrote about your car.
Thomas
------------------
Thomas Borchers
Member of AACA # 004829
HCCA and MAFCA
  17. Thanks, Rick.
I know now that the old gasket which I removed must be a "form a Gasket" by Permatex. I think I should try it with this again. I have these Permatex products at home.
In the meantime I think that I could get these gasket at Macs but the shipping charge to Germany is then very high.
I hope it will work with Permatex otherwise I will see if I can find a number on the filter.
Thomas
  18. Help! Yesterday I removed the oil cleaner cap of my fathers 1947 Lincoln and saw that the rubber gasket is broken. I need this gasket between the cap and the reservoir. You now, this thing (reservoir) were the oil cleaner element is in. Where can I get this? Perhaps I can't buy it alone and have to buy it with an filter element. Don't know.
Thanks
Thomas
------------------
Thomas Borchers
Member of AACA # 004829
HCCA and MAFCA
  19. Yes, Dan, thank you for these photos.
Thomas
------------------
Thomas Borchers
Member of AACA # 004829
HCCA and MAFCA
  20. You should try Restoration Supply Company in Reno/NV. They have a lot of things for the early cars. Email: restoration@rsc.reno.nv.us
Phone: 775/825-5663
  21. In 1940 there were built only 2859 cars by Graham. This include the sharknose Grahams. In 1940 Graham had a brake for they auto production and a bit later they built military products. There is a lot of more to tell about this company. It is car history. You should not destroy this car to a hot rod.
Thomas
------------------
Thomas Borchers
Member of AACA # 004829
HCCA and MAFCA
  22. There are 17 cars of 1913 Buick Model 25 in the 2000 Roster of members of the HCCA. But I am sure that there are more outside of the HCCA.
Are you not a member of HCCA? You should. ACCA, too. Of course.
Thomas
------------------
Thomas Borchers
Member of AACA # 004829
HCCA and MAFCA
  23. Novaman~~
Yes, that's why I would like to see a picture of the meeting. But someone said:"We will make photos if they don't brake the camera" Does that mean that the lenses of the cameras are now all cracked?
Thomas
  24. Where are the photos of the meeting at Rick's?
Thomas
  25. I think they came not from the factory with a continetal kit because I can't find it in the option list of GM. Lots of other things but not a ck. I think they were sold by the dealers and attached there.
But perhaps I am wrong with this...
Thomas
------------------
Thomas Borchers
Member of AACA # 004829
HCCA and MAFCA
