  1. Here's a really unusual one. A documented Pike's Peak 3d place (2nd loser) finisher. I'm not sure where one would drive it on the street...if so inclined. But it definitely looks like it would be a fun car to drive. And so far, the price is certainly palatable at $4k, although no doubt it will go much higher. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1922-chevrolet-sport-sprinster/
  2. I don't care who your Snap On dealer is or where he lives in the tool box structure. I want to know which section the Snap On calendar girl lives in and why it isn't highlighted.
  3. This one is interesting. The owner says he purchased it 2 years ago as a disassembled project car. It appears the serial number tag may have been replaced. Rivet heads presently used on the tag are smaller than imprints from previous rivets used, and the tag does not appear to be laying flat. To me this would be a huge red flag, unless other numbers on the car match. There is a frame number somewhere...I just can't remember off the top of my head where it is without looking it up. Comments regarding the car are interesting as well. One claims the serial number references a build date of 11-27-64, but the trim tag references a build date of 3-28-65. Tach redlines at 6500 rpm, which was only used with 396 engines. The seller states the car has a replacement 327. Why would someone put a 327 in an original 396 car? Again, as Dr. Spock would say to Capt. Kirk, "Highly illogical." Bidding ends in 5 days and is currently at $20k. 1965 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible 4-Speed for sale on BaT Auctions - ending December 16 (Lot #40,546) | Bring a Trailer
  4. Either with an unlimited budget, or no hopes or plans to put it back together, I think it would be an interesting disassembly.
  5. This must be the same one which was discussed several weeks ago with a seized 12 cylinder engine. It's owned by the IMS Museum. Bidding is at $12.5k and closes tomorrow afternoon. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1937-packard-fifteen-series-twelve/
  6. It might be what some do with a late model that has a salvage title. Clean up a rust-bucket body with a clear title and slap it on something's that been underwater, rolled, or otherwise destroyed.
  7. So it's not just me. I thought I was the only one who felt that way...except that I don't consider them cute.
  8. Yes, but the Corvette crossed flags emblem on the side of the topper sets it off very nicely. Gives it that finished look. And who could possibly object to the Harley-styled mufflers. But I really do like the Cragar mags. I think I've still got a set of them around somewhere.
  9. Here's another one I don't understand. A chopped-up F100 already bid to $75k, with 7 hours to go. Compare that to an original 1959 Vette in very nice condition, which sold yesterday for $53k. As Mr. Spock would say to Capt. Kirk, "Highly illogical." https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1969-ford-f-100-20/
  10. I know there aren't a lot of these left, but with still a day and a half to go, it's hard for me to swallow it's present bid of $101k. Someone could buy a really nice full classic for that kind of money. To each his/her own, I guess. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1959-volkswagen-959-volkswagen-deluxe-23-window-bus/
  11. Here's another decent looking brass touring car, although in need of a little minor TLC. Like the Lambert I posted a few days ago, it's not a run-of-the-mill T. Appears to be a very nice car for someone wanting something out of the ordinary. With a day to go, it's at $14.5k. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1910-overland-model-38/
  12. I dunno Ed. This is a significantly more upscale brass car than a T. According to the Standard Catalog, they sold new for almost 150% higher. Yes, parts would be limited, but that's the benefit of having a unique car...it's not run-of-the-mill...like the Great White. No, it's not a race car, but it wasn't built to be. Just from looks alone, it's head and shoulders above a T. Given a choice between this or a T for comparable prices, I'd definitely go for this one and never look back. But at least for now I'm not in the market for either. I'm just glad it didn't sell for $15k. If it had, I'd have kicked myself royally for not bidding. It's been for sale for over a year, so yes I'm extremely curious of what the reserve was, and what it will eventually sell for. But we may never know, if it eventually winds up in someone's private stash. I'm thinking it's most likely owned by an AACA member who wants to stay anonymous.
  13. Bidding closed at $23,500. No sale as the reserve was not met.
