Here’s the same car in 1962. Not sure what the mascot is that was on it then in place of the gazelle but I still have it, any idea of what it is off from?

This pic was taken just down the road from my house on Vashon Island, WA. Any idea of what the car is? It looks brand new!

Wiring wiring and a little more wiring today. Tested out the flexibility of my shoulder today and it actually did well. Still have some under dash work to do but that will have to wait a bit on reaching in there....

Instrument panel has 2 internal lights. Engine is a “Silver Dome” the old pic was taken in 1985. It is now painted silver

It’s off to Seattle Speedometer where he will repair and calibrate.

Thanks Mark. I sent the gauge to Seattle Speedometer, that way he can calibrate it too.

Could be, I stuck the lights in there because I hate empty holes. I can’t wait to get it done..... it won’t be concours original but it also won’t be hacked up.

A little more work today. Found a Freewheeling cable from another member in here and got it installed, someone in the past had bored out the mounting hole so I had to make an escutcheon. Anyone know what the two holes are for on either side of the handle? They have small red lights in them now but they don’t belong there. The

no kidding. Too many years of abuse I guess, reaching into odd places, twisting and contorting to reach things that I should have had a lift to do... and my early years of hard labor.

Anyone here have any experience with “Seattle Speedometer” they claim to do temp gauge repairs as well as recondition all types of old instruments. They are NOT in Seattle, but halfway across the state. I can’t say that I blame them though, Seattle has turned into a dump. I’d be interested to hear about their work or any other shops you could recommend to repair a non working temp gauge. Thanks, JimmyS

Some progress today, I’m a little limited at this time due to recent shoulder surgery. installed the chrome feature between the windshields and got rid of a bunch more Phillips screws.

My grandpa and I started restoring this back in the 1980’s, the car belonged to my dad. We took every piece of this car apart! Every single thing. We got it to a point that (we thought) it was ready for paint, chrome and interior that was about 1986. The car sat in my dads shop until 2004 when he retired and decided to send the car off to a shop and have all of the bodywork we did redone, he had the chrome done, paint and interior. He did his own style which I’m sticking with for now since he spent so much on it. It was never finished and sat again until April of 2019 when I brought it home. My dad passed away in December of 2018. Some of the things that were done still have me scratching my head. Things like the engine not being as detailed as I would like, the wiring was horrible, he had the wrong rear bumper and wrong headlights. I have since found correct lights and bumper, had a new wiring harness made (exact copy of original) detailed the engine, replaced all of the Phillips screws someone had used with slot heads and a lot more, still a long way to go.
