  1. Personally - I would keep my rear drums. They're fairly large, and I can keep the stock emergency brake. Good front discs are all I need to be able to drive this car somewhat hard.
  2. I like the decal. "Wildcat". What's better than that? I love all the period car names and engine/transmission descriptors...
  3. That looks great. Is there a kit for the '66-'70?
  4. Got the headers back from Direct Coating in Concord, NH. They look good. They'll make the rest of the engine look bad! Not sure when I'll have the chance to put these - and the new steering box - on. It'll probably depend on how bad the winter is this year. Also got my body mount kit from Classic Buicks. I may be able to get the six in the rear of the car changed out soon. We'll see...
  5. Cruising down dirt roads in a car of that vintage must transport you back in time...
  6. Thanks for the pics Jason! Tthat's better than any drawing...
  7. Ah - so it is. I never got past the emergency brake cable routing. It looks like it goes through the frame just ahead of the "X" and through the frame again just aft of the "X".
  8. The long hard-line that runs front-to-rear on the frame and the ones on the differentia have been replaced on my car. Whoever did it, did a rough and quick job. I ordered up a set of pre-bent lines, but before I go taking things apart, I'd like to see how that long one is supposed to be routed - especially if I need to get some clips too. I took a quick look in the brake section of the service manual but didn't see any pictures. Did I miss it or is there somewhere else to see the routing? Thanks...
  9. Every rusted out junk on craigslist around here says that it "only needs a little work". So I guess "little' means "lots" and "work" means "soul-stealing panel replacement and rust eradication".
  10. Not mine or anybody I know. https://maine.craigslist.org/cto/5251293484.html
  11. These guys have a lot of stuff, and page 31 of their catalog has a good cross-reference chart at the bottom of the page: http://www.dbtires.com/2015_catalog/2015_Catalog_Lo.pdf
  12. I don't know about the kit you are looking at, but I ordered up an Energy Suspension cab mount kit for my '67 C20. I assumed, incorrectly, that it would include all the steel bushings. Nope - the instructions said to re-use your inner flanged bushings for two of the mounts. Hey - I live in the northeast - my steel busing are just red dust at this point. That's why I'm replacing them! Anyway, I was lucky that another vendor reproduced the flanged bushings I needed and sold them individually. I still had to cut them down for use with the poly bushings. Sheesh.
  13. I don't know the direct answer to your question, but the Diamond Back catalog has a nice cross-reference section for tire sizes from different decades (bottom of page 31): http://www.dbtires.com/2015_catalog/2015_Catalog_Lo.pdf Maybe these guys know the answer to the question...
  14. Sorry - I already went this year. I'll be back early September of next year. Work takes me to Paris and a little bit east. I like the video. You have the biggest and best car in the parade!
  15. Not the best pics - but what the hey...
  16. Thanks for an informative post! The exhaust on that 'Cuda - yikes!!!! I'm considering a 17-inch set of these for my '67. I have a lot of measuring to do first. Would use 255-60R17 on it. I hope I didn't hijack the thread...
  17. It's bone stock. 114k miles. Blows a little smoke on start-up. Haven't checked the timing yet - it seems to run good. No idea on temperature - the stock gauge isn't much help. Definitely not overheating.
  18. Thanks. I know that combustion chamber efficiency and swirl characteristics for different engine designs can mean that one engine can get away with pump gas at 10.25 with iron heads and another design can't. This is my first Buick V-8 so I was looking for others experience.
  19. The manual says that my 430 has 10.25:1 compression. I've been running 91 octane with ethanol in it. So far, it doesn't seem like I'm having any detonation. Anyone who's driven these things more than me have any input? Should I be searching for 93 or adding octane boost?
  20. The car is off the lift now, so I did the best I could. In the 2nd picture, you're looking at the forward side of the control arm mounting point on the frame. There's a little clip that goes into the upper hole.
  21. Thanks for decoding the plate! The drums do seem to do a good job, and I haven't even tuned up the fronts yet.
  22. I've never read anything good about the factory disc brakes. I was considering the Scarebird conversion that uses the '71-'76 Riviera discs. Master Power Brakes makes a complete kit too, but it uses the A-body sized discs - a little small if you ask me.
  23. A custom Riv with surf boards. Can you get any cooler?
