  1. The gauge needle is constantly moving at a rapid pace
  2. also when rapidly increasing the throtle the gauge shows 0 in of hg
  3. The vacuuum gauge moves rapidly from 0-30
  4. I will test the vacuum and fix my passenger window( new glass arrived) tomorrow> I will let everyone know what it says.
  5. Are the numbers the same for my engine?since it is an older engine can I use a modern gauge?
  6. I did not install a condensor in fact I gave it back to tom and cindy. Tomorrow Alexander Schimdt will be comming over to help me with this problem.
  7. I'm not sure my local mechanic did it however he told me he would mark it and put in the new gear and it wouldn't start he adjusted the camshaft timing then valve then ignition and it wouldn't start he then took it apart and tried to adjust it until it finally started
  8. Now the car is back it is running extremely quiet but is severally lacking power max 30 mph downhill engine is overheating due to excessive stress. Though cylinder 1 has low compression that shouldn't mean I can't go into 3rd gear.

Total of three days Saturday through Monday. there are a couple of places for people to sleep depending on how many people come. 1-3 waccabuc country club more Ethanallen in Ridgefield ct about $75 a night they are 6 miles away also there are many more hotels that are nicer an closer but have no trailer parking or handicap accessible. Plus they cost more. If people are interested I can get them in touch. Everything depends on how many people can come. I will contact Steven

  11. Hello all for Presidents day weekend (Febuary 18-20) we are planing a tour in Waccabuc Ny. We will be visiting many interesting sites such as the first firetruck in the area which is a 1924 Dodge Brothers. Tators garage home of the first Dodge Brothers dealership on the east coast and currently the only mechanic in town that has the nowhow and skills to work on Dodge Brothers Motor vehicles. Wardpound ridge reservation is one of the best parks in the area. We will drive through Historic Ridgefield Ct and visit the Keeler Tavern est 1713. We will also visit the homestead of former supreme court justice Jhon Jay. On our last day we will drive on historic route 22 and visit the Dodge Brothers Club store and stop at various points of intrests. All is welcome, so far we signed up for touring a 1925 Dodge Brother coupe and 1926 Dodge Brother sedan and a 1941 Chrysler. More vehicles are expected.
  12. Turns out the over heating was caused by the severely stripped water pump shaft and impeller I am replacing them now.
  13. After taking the radiator off and the nose of the engine the chain is shattered and all up in the oil pan and the fiber timing gear is missing teeth
  14. Got the engine running it backfired and ajusted the rotor until it ran smoothly. Then had the engine idle for 20 min ans the engine was a max of 220 degerees by the exhaust manifold and 180 by the caurberattor. Not bad. Then under almost no load the engine started to die and get quiet and then stopped dead in its tracks. I heard a terrible noise. The timing chain came loose and was stuck in the timing gear (the terrible noise) the starter is freely spinning. When using the crank the flywheel moves but the fan does not. It also takes little effort to turn over when using the crank. How could the timing chain come off at low RPM? Chain appears to not be broken.

  16. Valves were .026 very far off now are correct I know that he has the correct book. I assume the ignition was timed to the valves and that's why it's so off.
  17. The correct temperature is 300 degrees and the radiator fluid is coming out of the overflow pipe. As the fluid expands it boils and comes out. The outside temperature is at most 50 degrees. Even the car finally gets up to speed I hear popping sounds. The valves were at .26 nowhere near the correct adjustment I think the ignition was timed to that valve timing and now it's out of adjustment. After I take off the distributor cap what do I do. manuel is in the mail.

  20. How do I advance the ignition the lever is all the way advanced how to adjust on distributor
  21. I don't have to worry about changing the fluid it will all leak out in a few months during the winter I drive it with at least 50-50 the the water is usually clear when drained out
