  1. Have a great time. Hope you find lots of goodies....and post lots of pics.
  2. Here is a link to info on coating other motor stuff....not sure if this is the coating available to the public . http://www.e-techpowdercoating.com/hot_powder_coating_applications.htm I went to Eastwoods site and it said that their normal powder does not work for exhaust manifolds.....and they were reevaluating their old high temp formula...so it wasn't available. They recommend using their header paint. I would say you may need a special powder for that high of temps. check out some of the ovens people build.....http://www.thepowdercoatingforum.com/forumdirectory/forum/forumdisplay.php?19-Powder-Coat-Oven-Building
  3. you can buy powdercoating kits. harbour freight has them. You can buy an oven from a used appliance dealer and powdercoat many of your own parts and do small stuff for others too. They also have many colors available.
  4. Hood hinge $40 Light switch $20 Lock thingies $10 Shipping would b whatever it costs from zip 99009..... We had a good right rear taillight cover when we bought the car but by time we got back there he had broke it with his forklift while moving the old hulk out. ARRRGH....
  5. we picked up a 50 chrysler royal for prts for our 51 windsor traveler. The windshield is different so we dont need it. maybe the moulding from that would work or be a good cheap spare....if you want it make an offer. You can see the car on here....or I can get better pics.
  6. i will check those items tomorrow in the daylight and get back to you. thanks
  7. I would spend time in Glacier park.....its a gem....and i would catch a few car shows. Here in the spokane area we have a couple great events. One is called car d alene....it is in coeur d alene idaho. They. Shut the main street down fora really cool car show. Silver auctions always has an auction going on on the waterfront, too. One is in portland and the other in monroe, wa. It is put on by the early ford v8 club in may but has all makes of stuff. We love travelling over the hill for that one. The dates arent up yet but here is their site. http://www.efv8psrg.org The weather here is excellent until july...then it gets super hot. I would be sure to stop and see the Grand Coulee Dam...there are some great campgrounds along Lake Roosevelt. They have limited facilities but are perfect for travelling. You can also rent fire lookout cabins for pretty cheap (50 bucks a night for some). The website for finding them is http://www.recreation.gov. if u are a senior or disabled you can get a discount. I would check out Crater Lake, too.
  8. Ok...they look alike...but we will measure. Well. I like more windowin this case...but some...like the bubbletops...ugh....not so appealing to me.
  9. Yep. I am probably going to bawl when we sell our 57 chevy truck...and it is same kinda deal... it will help with other projects...but we have had it since 1991... Hubby has tons of stories of great cars he HAD...so since we got together in 1989 I have talked him into keeping most of the vehicles we have owned. I get attached to ALL of them. We got an 03gmc new...and i loved that truck....we rolled it and our rv on i90 and paid 4 grand buying it back...and i felt so bad for what it went through. Its still crunched and i tell it its gonna be a great truck again someday...lol Showing emotion makes ya know you truly have passion for these.. i am sure you have great memories in that old truck...and i bet a few times you were frusterated with it, too...
  10. Thanks for the info. Are the windows in the doors different, too? We did notice the rear window differences. How the windows are much bigger in the 51 back window..we prefer the 51 look. Was that to see better? We dont need any body parts for the traveler right now...but we may later if some bonehead hits us or something...lol We dont want to get rid of anything we may b able to use.
  11. I read somewhere they were different...but now i cant find where i read it....so I figured I should ask the experts here... Will the doors off a 50 royal fit a 51 windsor deluxe traveler? Thanks Angie
  12. Ya wouldn't want that sucker to bonk ya in the head....thats for sure.
  13. Sorry. I think the radio will work in the traveler...so we need to keep it. Ps...i love those old woodies. I would love to find a good one to restore down the road....i really enjoy refinishing wood....and restoring....so i think it is a must for my bucket list.
  14. Lol...cant u see its a fancy shmancy hood propper? Lol Btw...looks like we will be going through your area the 24th....we decided to go back via i5 in case we find lots of good parts...we dont want to pack them around ten days...lol looking forward to seeing your db's....and meeting you.
  15. We picked up this car this week. We want to keep any parts that will work for spares for our traveler...but anything else is up for grabs. I read that the doors wont fit...will the fenders? Clearlt the rear window is different...same as the front bumper. We live near Spokane...willing to ship anywhere...but you have to pay the shipping. Here are the parts we know we are keeping. Motor Tranny Radio Pedal assemblies Wheels and hubcaps Windows...if they work for the traveler Keys and locks Front and rear suspension Rearend Radiator We will sell the steering column, shift linkages, any body parts, trim, dash, seats, window cranks etc. If i am missing something we should keep, please let me know. Please make us an offer on parts you may want.
  16. If you see an old dated post...don't read it...simple as that. I am not just passing through. I have spent time in a few forums here....and I have read here for hours...and posted a bit. I see it as a good resource all the way around. I didn't even notice what forum it was in...not that it mattered...I had just searched traveler. I tried to pm but all the option I could see was add friend...which I did.
  17. Thanks. That's what I thought too. Turns out jcmiller has replied to my other thread so I asked him there, too. I felt I didn't have much to lose....the worse he could do is say he don't know any. ..I didn't want to **** someone off. I would never be bothered by such a request myself. I enjoy sharing knowledge and sources with like minded people. As you know we are just getting into these things..but I am betting we will have more old Mopar cars in the near future...and who knows...maybe a DB will present itself to us again when we have the resources.... Back to the traveler...wonder how many were sold in the west...seems it would have been popular in the rural areas where families were big and utility vehicles were in more demand...plus some farmers around here had some pretty fancy cars....Hubby's grandpa was a wheat farmer and got a new Oldsmobile every two years...and another relative had an overland Willys...and many had Cadillacs.....

  19. Hey jcmiller...I saw your traveler for sale page...did u sell it? Wondering if you know any sources for parts for these in our area. We live in Spokane but will be headed down to southern Oregon via Portland next month. We only need a few things....but we would like to make connections for future parts and maybe even cars down the road.
  20. Yep I am serious. I figured what could it hurt to ask. Not like there are tons of these cars out there....and he just may know some sources since he has owned one. What's wrong with that?
  21. We will be coming through your area next month looking for parts for our 51 traveler....ya got any suggestions on places to look around?

  23. It haboth the title number and the funky vin. I thought maybe it is the last title number...before the title was transferred in 64....maybe the WN is Washington.....who knows...we will find out more when we go to DMV Thursday, I hope. The title number is 64.........and the number in question is 63........hopefully they will be able to figure it out. Probably after we pay seventy bucks and take it to esp for an inspection...ugh...thanks for your help, guys.
