Thankyou ,NTX5467---60FlatTo---Ben, for all great input and information on this subject,
i agree with statement re chevy photo, and all other information, plus the firestone tires mentioned,
years ago when i lived in New Zealand those firestone tires were made in New Zealand and exported around the world,
im sure im correct there, as fitted new ones on a 39 Buick that i restored.
Just letting you all no , im leaving to fly overseas for about 3 weeks, probably wont be able to be on forum, not sure, thankyou all.

Following on from EmTee,--if its still not 0 reading after doing all that, go under your dash and
remove each fuse one at a time check with your meter across, , or better a cheap small wire test light across
each fuse, if you get a dim light or meter shows power at that particular fuse,---thats the item that is causing the drain.

Which Buick engine was used?
Ben
Ben-not sure, but i have always known they were not nail head ,as i have sighted alot at shows, and a local member here in my club has a 65 silver cloud.- Silver Cloud is the last really supreme hand built cars from RR, here is a photo you decide. And the other problem was is hard to sight the engine , as most are black with heaps of accessories above and sides of engine.

Firstly , dear moderator if you are not happy with me placing this in the forum,--just remove it, i dont mind.
When i lived in California i found these two articles in magazines ,one i have forgotten as you can see, the other
the Economist, not sure of the years they were distributed but would have been about 25-30 years ago .
But i remember on a few occasions i showed these at different car clubs i belong to then as i have owned
lots makes and model classics, any way Rolls Royce purists did not like me showing these,--i got blasted a few
times from RR owners.
I know and realize the GM 400 transmission was used with a few variant changes, but the engine, never been sure ,
the silver cloud V8 6230 ci engine first from RR was from 1959 to 1965, a fabulous car and engine .
Something different for you to read.

Never used a power brake bleeder, and i never needed to, as i have used this for years now ,this small,
self bleeder tool , infact this is the second one i have had ,lost the first one in my travels, very easy to use
, with a small jam jar, place in position at each wheel, and bleed each wheel all by your self, and for memory only about
$20.00 here in Australia the last one i purchased.
It enables you to pump bleeding brakes with out air entering the system,

Correct. Pete. Top one is 64 same as my convertible.

Ed , Yes you are correct skinny thin hands and arms make a differents.
A small thing you may not have tried or realize, because both windows are in pairs,
alot of times it helps by picking the easy est side to do first, because if you are right handed
the passenger side might be easy er,---then do the drivers side second,--and get used to using left hand
as well fitting some difficult screws on an angle.---dont give up you will get them done.

Years ago ,when i restored my 1953 skylark, i did similiar to what Emtee said. except, after removing all my channels and glass i actually refitted
my original glass, by placing it in and on to the channels temperally holding in the channels with a pieces of old
house hold aluminum window rubber at each end.--still have some--photo
Doing with windows in place gives it the weight on channels and side guides, and is more accurate, so you can check it ,exactly
with windows up or down.
Also for memory the glass in channels were not always centered .

Here is a couple of things that may help.
There is a kit for chev on ebay that would probably work for you ,---23488100575784
1./316 bore out of Sayville New York, for $10.49.
Also a very good re sleeve rebuilder is ---White post restorations ph 540 837 1140
out of VA.---give them a call for time to do it for you.
Your very good older mechanic will know this, but if the cylinder is not to bad,
that can be honed very easy by hand, just before going under spec, then fitting a new kit
i have done this on many sixties Buicks over the years.---regards.

These should be there anytime soon---ok----20th now Wayne.

The meet that you want to take to, gives you the incentive to go get i t done,
and it will look 100% better than before, and when you return from the meet
you will always be happy that you had it done,---with a trophy or with out a trophy.

Pete you are correct and right here, same thing happened in New Zealand about
1977-78 at a holden GM dealership---but the gas tank was from a Holden
sedan for memory i think model called a Premier sedan, that model has a V8 308 ci petrol engine.
trying to repair a leak in the gas tank.

Yes but from the photos I would say that I am 99% sure it is a Special.
Yes --Buick did build only 410 domestic and 11 export century 4 Dr series 60 Phae--5 passenger
very rare. And the one above ,- 40c special a build of 1689.

You are probably right ---The 55er---- except i think incorrect year, reason i know is
there is one for sale now for 1950, but it is about hal;f inch longer---on ebay---166372292960---.
and screw mount enters from side.---regards.

Sorry for late reply--looks like 65 to me, i actually had a pair just like this 20 years ago , while
in California that i sold--was going to fit on my 65 but never got round to doing that.
here is a photo of the 1966 inside of the pair just fitted on my 64 401 above with the original bracket that
i fabricated on this forum about January 7th 8th this year.---notice the id number on the inside , sorry i can not remember
or have a photo of the inside of the ones i sold 20 years ago---hope that helps you.

Thought this would interest members, as its history that should be recorded,
because of its significant history, as when i lived in California i used to get ,
Old cars news---were very good think they stopped the issue back a few years---just found this one i kept-- for about 32 years.
Wonder if all the facts in this article are still accurate today.

Thanks so much for the guidance.
After an admittedly short research effort on-line, it appears to me that Dynel cloth is an alternative to fiberglass. Correct?
Or does the repair include both fiberglass and Dynel cloth?
Craig
Hello craig,---no the dynel cloth goes with resin, that is what gives it the strength,
just lay it on the item your working with, clean and dry the item first,-,mask the area that you dont wont
to strength en, lay the cloth down, then just adhere the resin with a brush, or small roller if its a big item,
over the top, one coat to cover the dynel cloth---let it dry----minimum time is about 12 hours,---give it a
rough sand to flatten it out, then a final coat of just the resin,- use plenty -let it dry--final sand to smooth.
for memory i used to do them from about 9.00oclock to 3.00 oclock on the shroud top ,rap it around under to the
inside.---for some reason i did many 1966 rivs for memory they were impossible to buy--probably still are--dont know
Wayne.
-
Craig, very easy to repair,--fiberglass, Dynel cloth small home kit ,available at
home depot.
It actually is stronger than original , and only costs about $40.00
If you want any tips i can help---reason i was born in New Zealand--nearly every Kiwi owns a boat.
i repaired many BCA friends 1966 shrouds in California years ago.

Hello Ed it may be because of , if the car has air condition option , others here will come
and help, i know you may thing it does not matter but with a a/c compressor it probably makes a differents
with the revs i would think.--- stick to stock size for your specs and engine.
