trying to got the slop out of my 49 steering column .does any one know where I can get the bearing that goes into the steering column head piece or reference number? or any other info on this subject thanks
ok I got the exhaust valve fixed, took the 49 for a test ride, now the tailpipe sounds like a vacume cleaner when I drive down the street! anybody know why it sounds like that
ok! got the valve body off, their was 1 bolt on the backside of the exhaust header that was the problem that was holding the valve body. ok next do I take the flapper out or should it stay in?
does anyone have a picture of trans manual control linkage, im having a problem getting it set up on my 49 not sure how set linkage so it stays where its post to be , problem is I have to hold the shift lever so it stays in drive.
ok, ran motor for 35 minutes. checked fluid, its still above full with motor running. pushed tires they went around for about a minute then stopped wheels turned real slow, what should I try next
ok. its sounds like I should let the car run and that the rear pump will fill the torque converter, ck fluid level to make sure their enough fluid in the trans, do I jack the rear wheels up so they spin freely or do I just leave it in park?
when putting trany back after rebuild I dident add any trans fluid to the torque converter, I have added trans fluid through the dipstick. question is how do I get fluid to the torque converter to make the trans work?:mad::confused:
how do you get power from generator to battery on a 6 volt system on my 49 super? I only 2 wires on gen. a & f that go to the regulator, where does battery wire on regulator go to? how does the battery get charged?
